🇺🇸🎆 Happy Independence Day from the Traffic Safety Association of Macomb County! 🎆🇺🇸

As we celebrate our nation's birthday with family, friends, BBQs, and fireworks, let's remember that the best way to celebrate is by making sure everyone gets home safely.

The Fourth of July holiday is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, with more than 2.6 million Michiganders expected to travel this weekend. That means more vehicles on our roads—and more opportunities for preventable tragedies if drivers make poor choices.

In Michigan, impaired driving continues to be a major cause of serious crashes. In the most recent statewide data:
🚗 307 people lost their lives in alcohol-involved crashes, accounting for nearly 28% of all traffic fatalities.

Before you head out to celebrate:
✅ Designate a sober driver.
✅ Use Uber, Lyft, or a taxi if you've been drinking.
✅ Buckle up—every trip, every seat.
✅ Put the phone away and eliminate distractions.
✅ Slow down and watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists.

One bad decision can change countless lives forever.

🚗👶 FREE Car Seat Safety Checks – June 6! 👶🚗

Did you know that nearly half of all car seats are installed or used incorrectly? Even loving, attentive parents can unknowingly make mistakes that reduce a car seat’s ability to protect a child in a crash.

That’s why the Traffic Safety Association of Macomb County and Macomb County WIC are offering FREE Car Seat Safety Checks to help keep children safe on the road!

Our certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will:
✅ Check your car seat installation
✅ Ensure your child is in the correct seat for their age, height, and weight
