I am going to do a series of employee spotlights. Meet our first featured employee, Luke Walraven. Luke is the son of my business partner Jeff Walraven. Luke started his path in this business by attending Lincoln Tech where he started learning the nuts and bolts basics of cars. Luke then worked for Tire Discounters for two years where he continued his experience as a l**e tech until his dad told him what we were about to build (Cooper’s Garage).
We brought Luke on as a Porter which is essentially a position dedicated to helping with basic logistics of running a shop. As we got busier and I needed a hand up at the counter, Luke began answering the phones and ordering parts etc. After a while, Luke started tinkering with building estimates and quickly got the hang of it by nerding out on Tekmetric, AllData and Parts Link. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Luke found his calling; a Parts Manager. What sets Luke apart in this role is his unnaturally good memory and his ability to hyper focus on the task at hand. So please give Luke a ❤️ to show appreciation for the guy that makes sure your car has the right parts quoted and installed. Keep up the good work Luke, I’m very proud of you!
