RACING ROARS BACK: TRI-CITY RACEWAY PARK RETURNS JULY 10 WITH EXTRAVAGANZA FEATURING 410 SPRINTS AND $1,000-TO-WIN ECONOMOD MANIA TOUR
FRANKLIN, PA β After a two-week summer break, engines are ready to fire back up as 4 Star Racing brings an action-packed night of dirt track racing back to Tri-City Raceway Park this Friday night, July 10. Fans will welcome back four weekly divisions alongside two highly anticipated guest classes for a jam-packed schedule on the Venango County half-mile oval.
Headlining the return are the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply 410 Sprint Cars squaring off in their eighth race of the season. The championship battle is a razor-thin thriller, with Brandon Matus clinging to a single-point lead over the "ageless wonder" Bob Felmlee (384 to 383). While Felmlee has two checkered flags to his name this year, Brandon Spithaler currently sits atop the division's win list with three victories, meaning the heavy hitters are all in peak form for Friday's showdown.
In the RK Virgile Iron & Steel Pro Stocks, consistency has been key for Jake Whitling. Holding one victory this season, Jake commands a 44-point lead over Pat Fielding. However, all eyes remain on Bobby Whitlingβthe track's all-time leading feature winner in the classβwho extended his historic record to 66 career checkered flags after picking up a pair of wins earlier this season.
The 21st Century Energy Group RUSH Sprint Cars have seen total dominance from two drivers across their six races. Defending track champion Blaze Myers and Gale Ruth Jr. have split the season perfectly, each capturing three wins. Myers holds a 27-point advantage over Ruth in the standings, leaving fans wondering if a new face will emerge in victory lane or if the Myers-Ruth combo will continue to set the pace.
In the Complete Car Care Center RUSH Stock Cars, the burning question is whether anyone can slow down William Baker Jr. Baker has been nearly unstoppable, capturing seven victories out of the last eight races at the track. Defending champion Raidden Wilson has been knocking on the door of an upset and sits just 13 points behind Baker heading into Friday.
Adding to the excitement, the EconoMod Mania Tour makes its first-ever appearance at Tri-City, marking just the third time overall that EconoMods have raced at the speedway. The division hasn't visited the track since 2018 when Jacob Eucker took the win, preceded by a Josh Ferry victory back in 2015. Drivers will be racing hard for a hefty $1,000 winner's prize.
Rounding out the action, the Mini Stocks return for their third event of the season, competing under the strict SCRDA rules package. Camden Franz and Jacob Wheeler earned the hardware in the first two rounds and will look to double up against a hungry field.
