Automobiles are the most recycled consumer products in the world today, according to a news release from the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers. Each year, 95 percent of retired autos are processed for recycling.
Once a car is crushed, it is shipped off to a recycling center where they are shredded and separated into small pieces, which are then sorted into various metals.
Kelly Car Buyer recycles about 8000 cars a year across the United States.
