That silver Chevy got a new transmission, a custom driveshaft, a new fuel pump and a diff build.

Those aren't four separate repairs so much as one path: the transmission, the driveshaft and the differential carry everything the engine makes down to the pavement. Replace one and leave the others and the weak link just moves down the line. So the whole drivetrain got done together, and the fuel pump went in alongside it so the engine behind it is fed properly.

The first photo is the truck up on the lift. The second is the engine bay all of it hangs off.

Your A/C in August: ice cold. Your heater in October: who knows.

Nobody tests the heater until the first cold morning, and by then everybody else is calling for the same appointment. If yours blows cool, this is the order we'd check, cheapest first.

Coolant level comes first. Low coolant means weak heat or none, and it costs nothing to look. Then the thermostat: stuck open, the engine never reaches temperature, so the heater never gets hot. Then the blend door, a small actuator that steers the air, which is the usual answer when one side is hot and the other is cold. The heater core comes last. Start there and a coolant top-off turns into a big quote.

An ABS light on this Hummer H2 turned out to be a broken wire.

That's the kind of fault a parts swap never finds. You can replace sensors all day and the light stays on if the break is in the wiring. So the wiring got diagnosed and repaired, and the circuit got tested rather than guessed at.

The H2 was in for more than that. We ran a parasitic drain test, did an A/C diagnostic and fitted a new A/C compressor, and made exhaust repairs. The meter is still on the fuse box in the second photo.

Test, don't guess. It's the cheapest way to fix a truck once.

This Duramax threw a disco party.

If you run a 2011–2016 LML, you've probably heard the phrase. The factory CP4 fuel pump doesn't just stop working when it fails. It grinds itself apart and sends metal glitter through the fuel lines, the rails and the injectors.

This one already started dancing. So it's getting a CP3 conversion, a tougher Bosch pump, plus a disaster kit from Thoroughbred Diesel: new injectors, new rails, new lines.

Why all of it? Replace only the pump and the metal still in the system goes straight into the new one. Done right, done once.

Compressor room's done, and it made a difference on day one.

New compressor, new air lines, more capacity without expanding the footprint — one of those upgrades that never shows up in a photo of a finished car, but every job in the shop runs on air, so every job runs better for it.

Resolution General Contractors LLC handled the whole build-out. Clean work, nothing left for us to clean up after, done on the schedule they gave us.

Rust doesn't always mean a totaled frame. Sometimes it means a few fasteners that gave up first.

This Jeep Wrangler came in with rotten hardware seized into the frame — the kind of corrosion that makes people assume the whole frame is done. It wasn't. We cut the old fasteners out, cleaned and ground the metal back to solid steel, and welded in new hardware in their place.

The frame was only part of the visit. While it was here, the Jeep also got a new rear main seal, a new oil pan gasket, and repairs to the front differential.

Done right, it's done once. The Jeep goes back on the road instead of into a trade-in lot.

Some people get lash extensions. This Silverado got new headlights. Same energy.

The old housings came out, the new set went in, and the truck came back out of the bay looking wide awake. No glue, no refills, just bolts.

There's a practical side to the joke, too. The days are getting shorter, and your headlights decide how far ahead you can see on the drive home. A set that actually throws light is worth having before winter.

The Ford Transit came in with a transmission that needed replacing — a straightforward job, or so we thought.

Getting to it meant the front suspension had to come apart first, and every fastener back there had seized solid from years on the road. What should have been an hour of teardown turned into cutting, soaking, and prying just to get access.

Once we were in, the fix itself was simple: a fresh reman transmission from Jasper Engines & Transmissions, installed and tested before the van went back together.

Not every job is complicated. Some are just stubborn. Test, don't guess.

A check engine light that's steady and one that's flashing are two different conversations.

Steady means the computer has seen something out of range and stored a code. It could be as small as a loose gas cap or as real as a sensor failing. If the car drives normally, you've got time to get it read. Just don't leave it for months, because a small fault left alone has a way of becoming a bigger one.

Flashing means the engine is misfiring badly enough that unburnt fuel is going into the exhaust, and that can overheat and ruin the catalytic converter, which is an expensive part to replace. Ease off, avoid hard acceleration, and get it looked at now rather than later.

Either way, the code is a starting point, not an answer. It tells you which circuit is unhappy. It doesn't tell you which part failed, and the difference between those two things is most of what people overpay for. We test the circuit and confirm the fault before anybody quotes a repair.
