Was trying to help another post looking for optional mounting locations for a Garmin XT on their new RG. Thought I would repost this an an example of different things. Never been shy to modify my bikes and this solved several issues:
- Carrying my coffee in the morning (water in the afternoon)
- Phone mount for the rare times that I need it handy
- molded in my air ride gauge

Phone and coffee holder SP Connect systems and removable. Air gauge is permanent but can be deleted with a new door cover.

Just a little miscellaneous trick for carrying a fob for your Harley if you didn't already know.

For years I used a carabiner clip to a belt loop for my fob, but didn't like the flopping around .. especially at the shop. It was in a leather fob cover so little chance of damaging anything, but still sometimes in the way.

Swapped it out for a belt lighter case and it works like a charm. No worries on the carabiner clip catching on the shirt or failing anymore.

Thought I would just share for an idea in case someone else was interested. Have always done the carabiner and sometimes in the cargo pocket .. or in the vest. End of the day for ME .. this is a great solution.

Sharing to our Texas crowd ... shame to see this spot close. If you can ... ride out and support them one last time.

An important announcement from the Loco Coyote Team,

Loco Coyote Grill will permanently close its doors on Sunday, July 19.

Like many Texas BBQ restaurants, rising food, labor, and operating costs have made it impossible to continue operating. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our customers, staff, musicians, vendors, and community throughout the years.

Join us for one last weekend and help us send Loco Coyote off in style! We’ll have discounts on all merchandise.

Hours:
• Thursday: 5–9 PM (Loteria!)
• Friday: 5–9 PM
• Saturday: 11 AM–9 PM
• Sunday: 11 AM–3 PM (Final Day)

Thank you for being part of our story and for the memories we’ve shared.

Shoutout to the dude this morning who blocked traffic over here near the shop to help a snapping turtle get across the street to safety. Little tank surprised the guy a couple of times with how fast that head can snake around and snap ... but he was encouraged to the ditch and the pipe to be able to get back over to the pond.

Always good seeing people stop to help

Honestly can't say enough good stuff about KST Kustoms, Ret and his team ... as well as the products that they put out of their shop. We've been using their bars for years (have them on my personal bike) and always have happy customers after the swap.

Buy direct from them or hit us up and we'll take care of you. We also ship directly to our customers in the lower 48.

Here's what nobody tells you when you buy a bike: stock handlebars are a one-size-fits-none compromise. They're built for an "average" rider that doesn't actually exist.

That numbness in your hands after an hour on the highway?
The ache creeping up your forearms by mile 100?
The shoulder tension you didn't have before you started riding?
That's not toughness you're supposed to push through... that's your bars putting your wrists in a bad angle and your body compensating for it, ride after ride.

At KST Kustoms, we've spent 30+ years thinking about exactly this. Every bar we build from the Spearhead, Bison, Pathfinder, Patriot.. all start with rider ergonomics, not just looks. The pullback, the rise, the sweep. Small numbers that change everything about how your wrists, shoulders, and lower back feel three hours into a ride.

Good handlebars shouldn't make you think about your handlebars. That's the whole point.

Bent, welded, and hand-finished in our Bremen, Georgia shop... built for the miles you actually ride, not the showroom floor.

A bit of a "funny but frustrating" post this morning. Kudos to Amazon.com for consistently using delivery staff who seem to be unable to read. Luckily this was just a small purchase for me, but this has also happened with computer monitors and other items over the years (I know just about everyone gets to experience this).

First clue that they were screwing around was a delivery time 30 minutes after we closed the shop at 7:15p (delivery was for before 6p). Second of course .. "handed directly to receptionist". Thanks Amazon.com .. now I have to give the A/C Condenser a raise since it's doing multiple jobs. ;)

Ok its SATURDAY ... let's have some fun !! Shop opens at 11am !!

Here we grow again !

HARLEY PEEPS ... follow up on any outstanding recalls for your bike(s). We just had a third bike in the shop for ABS system failure that is most likely a direct result of the issues found with the HD brake fluid used. (Safety recommendation is to change your fluid every couple of years)

In 2018, Harley-Davidson issued a massive safety recall (NHTSA Campaign No. 18V076000) affecting nearly 175,000 Touring, CVO, and VRSC models from 2008 to 2011 equipped with ABS. The defect causes a loss of braking ability and increases the risk of a crash.

If the DOT 4 brake fluid is not flushed and replaced every two years as outlined in the Harley-Davidson Owner's Manual, the fluid absorbs moisture and causes deposits to form within the brake system. These deposits can cause a valve inside the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit to stick, resulting in a loss of rear or front braking power.
