Hey guys,
I would like to explain the importance of having a good insurance company to you all as I have 7 years experience doing auto hail damage repairs and have seen a lot in this time.
2 cars get dropped off same exact day to the shop. Both deductibles are $500 one has rental coverage and one doesn't.
Car A. Has less damages than car B and the repairs itself should only take 1-2 days However, this person has a small insurance company and they're dragging their feet to approve our estimate. This person now is without a vehicle for close to a month before we can actually begin working on their vehicle waiting on insurance to approve us and since they dont have rental car coverage they are out of luck.
Car B: has more damages than A and the repairs are estimated at 5 days However, this person has a big insurance company who approved us within 24-48 hours of them dropping off their vehicle, set up their rental car the same day so they were never left without a vehicle. We begin working on car same day and this person is only without their vehicle total one week from the day they dropped off. Even though person B had more damages than A they still got their vehicle in less time than person A.
Here's the kicker person A tried to save money by going with the small insurance company claiming that's all they could afford, yet person B went ahead and got the bigger insurance company even though it was a little more. You know how much more person B paid a month for their better coverage? $20 more! That's it! $20 more a month would have saved them the hassle of all the back and forth with their insurance repairs and whole time they're thinking "well I'm saving money" but think of how much time they wasted instead. Not to mention the money they spent on Ubers and finding rides in meantime.
Moral of the story: you get what you pay for and sometimes the few dollars in savings per month will cost you way more in the long run. Choose your insurance wisely, I myself have had state farm for many years. This is just for a hail damage repair to, imagine you having to wait 3-4 months if it's a collision repair because your insurance company doesn't have the resources to get you approved faster.
If you guys have any questions regarding your hail claims and trying to understand your insurance policy please give me a call today. (P.S its only about $10 more a month to ensure you have rental car coverage and the fact that you have full coverage does not mean you hage rental car coverage)
