Cameron Dodson will be driving the #26 Sam Pierce Chevrolet machine this Saturday in the Non-Winged race, this will be his first appearance this year in the AVBBSS Non-Winged series. Aaron Pierce will be running the Road America race in Wisconsin this week. We look forward to having Cameron racing with the “Worlds Fastest Short Track Cars!!”

Cameron Dodson is back! 🏁

DODSON TO MAKE HIS RETURN TO SPRINT CAR COMPETITON THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

August 15, 2019 - Fordyce Racing announced today that Cameron Dodson will make his return to sprint car competition this Saturday night August 17 during the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVSS) winged event at Baer Field Motorsports Park in Ft. Wayne, IN. It will be his first start in a winged asphalt sprint car in many years. His return to competition was announced via the Fordyce Racing page. Dodson will be behind the wheel of the Craig Fordyce owned #4 that has been driven by CJ Leary, Chris Jagger, and Travis Welpott among others this season.

Dodson made his winged pavement sprint car debut at the age of 16 in late 2004. Dodson won a Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series (HOSS) event at Baer Field to close out the season.

By the time the 2005 season ended. The 17-year-old had burst onto the scene in a big way. Dodson captured 11 out of the 17 AVSS races as well as the AVSS season championship aboard the Dick Meyers . In addition, he picked up 2 HOSS wins that season.

He scaled his winged asphalt activity back drastically in 2006 to focus on other ventures but still captured 6 victories between HOSS and AVSS that season. He made 4 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck starts that season as well.

A major highway car accident in 2008 put his racing career in limbo for a spell as well as other personal problems. Dodson was the 2007 USAC Silver Crown Series Rookie of the Year and has 3 career series wins.

During his short time competing in winged asphalt sprint cars Dodson was dominant to say the least. He currently has 14 career AVSS victories which ranks him 7th all-time in series wins. Saturday's event will be his first AVSS appearance since 2006.

I am sorry to bring you this news but after last night's events that happened I am sad to say that I will not be grocery shopping cart racing anymore as my age has caught up with me it is hard to walk today. DAVE
