Yesterday’s answer was B — an intake vacuum leak. ✅

On the warm, MAF-equipped engine in our question, total fuel trim was +24% at idle, then fell to +3% at 2,500 RPM with no load. ⚙️

Air entering downstream of the airflow sensor goes unmeasured. At idle, that extra air can make up a bigger share of the engine’s total airflow, so the computer adds more fuel. As airflow rises, the correction can shrink.

That pattern is a strong diagnostic clue—not proof of a leak by itself. A technician still needs to confirm the cause. 🔧

🔋 FACT FRIDAY ANSWER: B! 🔋

Our EV-on-a-long-downhill question had a catch: the vehicle was traveling at the same speed, but regenerative braking was fading as the battery filled. Why?

B — battery management limits charging current. As the battery approaches its charging limit, it may accept less recovered energy, so regenerative braking can taper off. Depending on the vehicle, regular brakes may help provide the requested deceleration. ⚡🛑
