Let’s be honest, there are a lot of great causes to support amongst this crazy world. All of them far more important than sharing another photo of a freshly detailed ride. Whether behind the scenes or publicly, I do my best to use this tiny platform to share and support a few of those worthy causes.

The Miller family is very near and dear to the Lusso Detail family. Their daughter Hazel, has been hospitalized for almost a year now with a rare diagnosis. One with pain and suffering that no 12 year old should ever have to experience.

Please cover this sweet family in prayer. Pray that Hazel will experience healing. Pray for wisdom and knowledge for the medical team. Pray for strength, courage and perseverance for the family. I often get asked “what’s your dream car?” As a certified car obsessed person, that question is impossible to narrow down to one option. But as far as practical “everyday” cars go, an Alpina B8 is extremely high on the list.

It’s not lost on me that I have the immense privilege to care for many of my dream cars on a regular basis. This isn’t because I’m special in any sort of way, or because I have the flashiest marketing campaign, the best closing strategy, or the lowest price.

Running a small business is indeed very hard. But sometimes people make it more complicated than it needs to be. In my world, earning people’s business comes through building relationships. More often than not, the dream clients come through referrals from friends, family, or coworkers. Having the right tools and processes are great, but relationships always win the day.

Alright y’all, spring is here which means busy season is upon us! Below are a few helpful tips when booking your next appointment with Lusso Detail.

If you are new around here, the easiest way to book will be through the website where you can reserve a time that works best for you. The website will also provide some ballpark estimates for quotes on most vehicles. If you have further questions on a specific service or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Please keep in mind it’s not uncommon to be booked out at least a couple weeks in advance. If you need a last minute appointment and nothing is available on the website, feel free to send a message as cancellations happen from time to time. In the event you need to reschedule, please note there is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

If you decide to call, please leave a voicemail. This is super helpful in weeding through the spam calls and will allow me to best understand your needs.

As a solopreneur in a physical labor role, your patience is very much appreciated. As much as I’d love to respond to everyone immediately, my first priority will always be serving the current client. This should go without saying, but those of you who contact outside of work hours will be responded to at an appropriate time. We business owners have lives and families as well. 😉

Wrote a quick note on hitting 1k followers on Instagram recently and thought it would be appropriate to share here as well!

Two things can be true. It’s ok to celebrate a win while also understanding its fleeting significance.

Gaining followers for numbers sake has never been the goal. Let’s be honest, 1K is not a lot. It’s just a number. And some days, no matter what the follower count is, “the algo” seems to only show content to my mom and three other people. 😂 At the same time, it’s amazing to see that more than a couple of people find value in the niche service this small business provides.

At the end of the day, Lusso Detail is an old fashioned small business in a modern day world. The content you see here will always be authentic. Not generated by AI. Not designed solely in hopes to go viral. Real sweet rides from real clients and written content from the heart. Followers are never bought but rather earned through building relationships. It’s been a VERY long time since I’ve done a personal intro and figured now would be a good time to do so!

If we haven’t met already, my name is James and I’m the face behind Lusso Detail. Midwest born and raised but Fort Wayne has been my home for over 20 years. I truly love being part of this special community.

Current obsessions include trying NA drinks, puzzles, and knocking the winter rust off my very mid golf swing.

Lusso Detail started in 2016 out of a passion for cars and a desire to serve others well. Still cannot believe TEN years of small business ownership is coming up later this year. By the way, I’m loving the current 2016 photo trend because it coincides with the time this business started. Both fun and gratifying to look back then vs. now.

What you need to know is this small business would not be possible without my wife (aka Lady Lusso). We met at a church group around 15 years ago and were always good friends but never really thought about dating. Funny how the best things tend to come when you least expect it. I truly could not ask for a better best friend and business partner.

Two things I’m IN on this year
- Slowing down. While there are many joys to entrepreneurship, it can be an absolute grind. Jam packed schedules are great for hitting business goals, but can easily lead to burnout and not serving others with my best. Here’s to more long walks with Mrs. Lusso, taking time off, and tee times.
- Using my voice to benefit others. I have a bad habit of not speaking up because my words don’t always come out the best. If you ever feel this way, know that your words matter and are powerful. Use them for good!

Two things I’m OUT on this year
- Worrying about “the algo.” Post the good stuff no matter what the social platforms decide to aggregate.
- Maybe coffee? Love a good latte but my body decides to implode after having one most days. All ears for any alternatives.
