Bringing a set of original 1969 AMC 390 AMX cylinder heads back to life. 🔥

Started out dirty, worn, and full of years of carbon buildup. Complete teardown, thermal cleaning, guide work, valve job, resurfacing, and careful reconditioning to get these classic AMC heads ready to run again.

A lot of precision machine work goes into restoring old-school performance parts correctly. These rare AMX pieces are heading back to the customer looking and performing like they should.

And honestly… I got so excited getting these wrapped up and looking good that I completely forgot to take pictures of the finished cylinder heads assembled. 😂

I was so focused on getting these done and delivered that I forgot to take any “after” pictures. 🤪🤦‍♂️ These are a pair of 390 AMC heads that I updated and fixed, and they'll ultimately be going into a fully restored 1969 AMX. 🤩
My first muscle car was a 1970 AMX with a 360 and nitrous; it was one of the fastest street cars in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area in the early 1980s. 👊

A couple of old-school Chevrolet and AMC 390 cylinder heads in for teardown and thermal cleaning. Years of carbon, grease, rust, and buildup getting stripped away so we can inspect everything properly and bring these heads back to life the right way.

A lot of people only like seeing the finished product, but this is where the real work starts. Clean parts, careful inspection, and proper machine work make all the difference. 🔥⚙️

Picked this 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5L 16-valve DOHC cylinder head up from the customer Wednesday late afternoon after they were told by other shops to expect a 10-day to 2-week turnaround.

We tore it down, cleaned it, inspected it, performed the machine work, resurfaced it, reconditioned the valves and seats, and had it finished late last night. No shortcuts — just quality machine work and attention to detail.

This one will be delivered back to the customer Monday morning ready to go back together. Fast turnaround and quality workmanship still matter.

Just finished this one up. I picked it up on Wednesday evening, and finished it on Friday! 💪 This repair shop is used to waiting 10 days to two weeks for cylinder head service. 🤯😪🤦‍♂️ No more! 👊 In my 35 years in business, I would never have accepted two weeks to return a cylinder head service back to a client. That's insane, but I guess it's acceptable today. 🤷‍♂️ I even called a known cylinder head supplier to get a current feel of the landscape, and they said they could supply one, but it would be a couple of weeks. 🙄 This is also a more time-consuming job, as I had to do a pre-assembly, set all valve adjustments, disassemble, and then do a final assembly.

A little one coming off the Serdi. Came in yesterday, be done tonight. 💪

LS7 sleeve repair done right. 🔥

This cracked cylinder sleeve had to be carefully machined out and replaced without disturbing the adjacent cylinders or compromising the block. Precision measurements, careful setup, and patience are what make jobs like this successful.

No shortcuts. No guesswork. Finished up clean and ready for the next step in the rebuild. 💪

Bringing old-school small block Chevy power into the modern era. 🔥

This customer’s 350 got a full machine shop refresh with precision machining, fresh cylinder work, crank prep, and upgraded to a hydraulic roller cam setup for better reliability, drivability, and performance.

A lot of time and detail goes into a build like this long before the valve covers ever go on. 💪
