Here at , we love being a part of the Fort Pierce Community. Which is why we like celebrating major local accomplishments with you, like the opening of the North Hutchingson Island Bridge. It's been a long time coming, but the day is finally here.

Here are a couple fun stats about the new span.

Type: Fixed‑span bridge (replaces 1954 drawbridge)
Length: ~1.2 miles; span 4,152 feet Roads and Bridges
Clearance: 85 feet vertical, 125 feet horizontal over the Intracoastal Waterway
Lanes: One 12‑foot travel lane in each direction
Pedestrian/Bike Facilities:
8‑ft barrier‑protected sidewalk on the south side
12‑ft barrier‑protected shared‑use path on the north side
7‑ft buffered bike lanes on both sides of SR A1A

Other Improvements: Observation deck under west side (still under construction), new access roads, Juanita Avenue extension, and connectivity to the East Coast Greenway.
