Friday started off with a seatrial on a leopard 42 and ended up doing some Victron Troubleshooting on a Lamborghini 63. Gotta love Fort Lauderdale!

I recently joined the Full Displacement Podcast with Current Yachts to discuss the future of marine electrical systems and how technology is changing yacht ownership.

We talked about lithium battery banks, solar power, smart charging, navigation technology, and the shift toward quieter, more self-sufficient boats. We also covered what buyers and owners should look for when evaluating a vessel’s electrical and electronics systems—especially before writing a check.

Thank you to the Current Yachts team for having me on. Check out the full episode here:

Another successful project in the books.

Our team at Bluewater Yacht Tech recently completed the integration of two independent Victron Energy lithium battery banks aboard the 72-meter Casino Royale. One bank now supports the vessel's primary service loads, while the second is dedicated to critical emergency backup systems.

The project included seamless integration with the existing Mastervolt charging infrastructure and the vessel's Boening monitoring and control systems, delivering a reliable, modernized power solution without compromising the yacht's existing architecture.

Projects like this showcase what's possible when advanced lithium technology is combined with careful engineering and system integration. We're grateful for the opportunity to work on world-class vessels alongside outstanding industry partners.

Every now and then I have to stop and appreciate how blessed I am to do what I love.

This week, Bluewater Yacht Tech is working on a 72-meter mega yacht, replacing and upgrading the vessel's lithium battery bank with a Victron Energy system. Coming from years of working on cruising catamarans and owner-operated yachts, it's humbling to see the opportunities that continue to come our way.

What means the most isn't the size of the yacht—it's the trust our clients place in us to solve complex electrical and energy challenges. Whether it's a 40-foot cruising boat preparing for the Bahamas or a 72-meter superyacht undergoing a major refit, the goal is always the same: deliver quality work, stand behind it, and take care of the client.

I'm incredibly grateful for our customers, our partners, and the talented team that helps make these projects possible. Looking forward to another exciting chapter and continuing to learn every day in this amazing industry.

Another happy client making the upgrade!
Big congrats to Cory Brian on his brand new GODU 10.5 Max tender!

Cory came to us after experiencing another cruiser's 10.5 Max out in the bay, even in the chop, he was so impressed he knew he had to have one. He trusted Bluewater Yacht Tech with his OC tender to store while he sells it, and made the switch to the Godu 10.5 Max without looking back.
That's the thing about these tenders, once you ride in one, there's no going back!

Welcome to the 10.5 Max club, Cory!
We're stoked to be part of your journey and can't wait to see you out on the water.

Made a run up to St. Pete this week to work on a customer's boat — we were up there tackling some Mastervolt and Garmin systems — and took advantage of being in town to swing by and see my friends at the Yacht Riggers. Got the grand tour of their container workshop and wow — what a setup! Always love seeing how other people in this industry work. Great boats, great people, great vibes. Another solid week on the water.

New product just hit the shop, and it’s a game-changer

10kW Permanent Magnet 48V Alternator + 3kW Bi-Directional 48V -12V Converter

This setup delivers:
Massive charging capability
True support for modern 48V lithium systems
Clean, efficient power conversion both ways (48V -12V)
Perfect for high-load cruising and hybrid systems

We’re seeing more boats move toward 48V, and this is exactly the kind of hardware that makes it work right.

Let me know if you want to spec one into your system.
