Look what comes after 131k miles without changing the transfer case oil. I just want to quote that modern units doesnt have drain holes. So you must take the unit out and service it wich rise service prices a lot.

Changing oil every 50k miles can void all this issues and give you the smoothness these cars gives.

Today transfer case fluid change after 131k miles. Please don't do that to your bmw.

Service that component right there is very expensive if you don't do regular fluid changes. The best time to do it is every 50k miles and you should be fine.
