The yacht operates between Florida, the Bahamas, and the Northeast United States, providing private cruising exclusively for the owners, their family, and invited guests.

Ideal Candidate:
• Professionally culinarily trained with strong fine-dining and international cuisine experience.
• Proven track record as a yacht chef, ideally with successful experience on larger vessels (50m+).
• Creative, flexible, and able to deliver exceptional, personalized menus tailored to owners, family, and guests.
• Trustworthy, discreet, and a true team player who thrives in a close-knit crew environment.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and impeccable hygiene standards.
• US passport holders only (must be from USA).
• Valid STCW, ENG1 (or equivalent), and any other required certifications.

• Usage: Moderate private guest use
• Crew: 4 total crew – US-flagged vessel with US crew only

Requirements:
• Valid USCG Captain’s license (minimum 100-ton, preferably 200-ton or higher)
• Strong professional background and verifiable work history
• Mature, responsible individual with limited alcohol use
• Able to work unsupervised and take initiative as the program continues to develop
• Willing to undergo background check, drug testing, and sign an NDA

I had a fascinating conversation yesterday with a longtime yacht industry veteran and global vendor.

He observed a noticeable shift in our sector: moving away from the traditional relationship-driven business toward a more transactional model — and he’s concerned about where that path leads.

In brokerage, we’ve all seen highly successful operators who run on a pure “what have you done for me lately” mindset. Close the deal, move on. It works for volume, but…
To me, this misses the essence of true luxury yachting.

We are seeking a highly capable US Mate with strong engineering skills to join the first-class team aboard a pristine US-flagged Westport 112. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, proactive professional who thrives in a professional yachting environment and takes pride in both deck operations and technical excellence.

Vessel & Itinerary
* Yacht: 112’ Westport (US Flagged)
* Itinerary: Summer in the Northeast (New England / Hamptons area) and winter in the Bahamas
* Privately owned vessel with a reputation for high standards and an excellent owner/guest program

Requirements
* Must hold a valid US Passport and be a US resident
* 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License (or higher) required
* Strong engineering background with proven hands-on experience in yacht systems maintenance and repair
* Extensive knowledge of marine diesel engines, generators, hydraulics, electrical systems, and watermakers
* Clean background check and professional references
* Excellent attitude, strong work ethic, and team-player mentality
* Non-smoker preferred

Key Responsibilities
* Serve as primary Mate on deck during navigation, docking, and guest operations
* Lead and perform all engineering and technical maintenance
