**A U.S. Customs Change Yacht Owners Should Be Watching πŸ›ƒ**

Executive Order 14411 could significantly change how foreign-flagged yachts enter the U.S.

The order directs the Department of Homeland Security to prohibit foreign importers of record from using informal entry procedures and calls for stricter importer requirements, including increased bonding and additional documentation.

For foreign-flagged yachts entering the U.S. for shows, storage, or seasonal cruising, this could mean more paperwork, higher costs, and more advance planning.

An industry push for a yacht-specific exemption is underway, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

If you have a foreign-flagged vessel scheduled to enter the U.S., this is worth discussing with your customs broker before transport is booked.

Halfway through 2026, and it's been a busy stretch for Luke Brown Yachts.

We started the year at the Stuart Boat Show with a 65 Pacific Mariner and a 37 CV on display, then went to Miami to see the new venue firsthand. Palm Beach followed with one of our biggest displays since the ownership transition.

From there we headed up for a run through Michigan and the Great Lakes, five videos worth, covering our Detroit and Northport shipyards, the East Jordan toy service location, and the Bay Harbor Boat Show.

Next up: Detroit and Newport running at the same time, then Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this fall.

Navigating the boat selling process without the right broker in your corner is harder than it needs to be.

A reputable brokerage sets clients up for success from the start, transparency, honest guidance, and pricing strategy built around realistic timeframes: 30, 60, 90, and 180 day intervals. Not a number chosen to win the listing.

That's what a good broker actually does for you.

Thinking about listing? Talk to a broker who will give you a real read on your timing.

Listed in May, sold in about two months. Elton II, a 2004 Mangusta 72 out of Dania Beach, asking $399,000, is a good example of what happens when brokerages work well together.

Luke Brown Yachts and National Liquidators co-listed this one, with a buyer already in-house, and that relationship is a big part of why it closed quickly.

Paul Denton handled it for LBY.

SIMPLICITY, a 2012 Westport 112, has sold. Asking price was $5,495,000. πŸ›₯️

She was a two owner yacht, privately used and professionally crewed her entire life, and it showed in the condition at closing.

Congratulations to Jason Dunbar on representing the seller, and to Jason Walton of Autograph Yachts on the buy side. Good transactions come from good cooperation on both ends.

If you're considering what the current market means for your own yacht, we'd welcome the conversation.
