This Wednesday night in Oskaloosa Iowa at Southern Iowa Speedway they will be running two classes of vintage cars, the same as us. Street stocks and super stocks .
If anyone can make it this is a great mod week chance to turn some laps and I have to say everyone I know that's raced there says it's an extremely fun track.
Hope you all can make it.
Thanks fellers!

First Responders & Military & Vets will be admitted free into the grandstand!

As we get close to the season I thought I'd give some updates for you.
First off Jeff Frevert Sports Park Raceway is making some real progress on the track transformation. It is a bit narrower in the corners And a very little bit shorter on the inside but not a lot. The corners are much wider than most "smaller" tracks so I think it'll work nicely. It looks fast, real fast! I'm sure Jeff will have more specific updates soon for everyone pertaining to lengths and what not.
Secondly though I'd like to announce that we will have 10 reserved pit stops now for vintage only, first come first served. If everyone remember where I used to park we will have that area north to the light pole. It is about 165'. Each stall is supposed to be 15' I think if we park fairly close we will be able to get a few more cars in there also. I'm paying Jeff for one spot myself for my wife's car this 10 spots in 165'
Figure if we park just a couple feet from each other we can get 15..16 rigs in there.
We received these spots because of sponsorship we acquired for the season and the track.
As always, looking forward to seeing all of you this season and of there are any questions, concerns or just want to bench race feel free to call

Edit: NEW RULE: anyone running in street stock class will be required to remove their holds PRERACE and air cleaner removed for inspection by either myself, Todd or Rex to verify there is a two barrel in place. This includes Todd rex and myself so anyone else can inspect our cars. We aren't racing for much here with fun and sportsmanship being the main points here so let's be respectful of our fellow racers please.
This won't apply open class race cars.

If you're interested in racing next season.

Just an fyi there are some very very affordable late models and mods out there right now to build a super stock on for next year. Just add a body and drivetrain and off to the races.
Don't forget this is the best time of the year to grab a hobby or stockcar chassis to build a street stock on too!

Lastly, to all those drivers in all types of racing that are just done with the constant work and bs in points racing don't give up! Contact us we can help you take what you have and go have fun racing once again!

Hello. Just a few updates for our followers. Last night was our season ending race at Sportspark raceway and we had a little meeting and have some rule changes and announcements for next season
The Super Stock class will now be called Vintage Late models because we feel this better describes it for both the fans and potential racers. We hope this class grows next season and I encourage anyone that either has a late model/ mod sitting around to consider this as an option to get back out there and enjoy the sport again
Rules change for next year. We will allow LS motors in the vintage classes. The motor must have an iron block and a 2 barrel carb to participate in the stock cars and any carburetor to operate in the vintage late models. you'll need to attach an iron small block head in front of the radiator to offset the weight advantage of the aluminum heads in the stock class. We feel there are so many of these motors out there we hope that opening the rules up will allow drivers to get out there with a much more affordable engine option. Motors do not need to match the body. I e. You can run a Ford body and the LS if you so choose.
I also want to clarify a thing or two. The use of modified chassis are allowed in the street stock with leaf springs and two cylinder heads in front of the radiator to equalize weight due to set back. On the other hand a mod is allowed in the vintage late model class but with an auto body pre 1978.
Lastly I want to say every year tracks lose racers through attrition. Sometimes it is cost based or maybe they are just tired of the hassle of class racing or maybe their car is a little long in the tooth but they either can't afford a new car, don't just pack it in please. Contact us. We have options for you to stay in racing where the costs are very affordable, the racing is tight and racing is just fun again like it used to be
If this fits you or someone you know, I ask you contact me before selling out because we can literally fit everything from a hobby stock to a late model
Thank you for your time, efforts and support.
