43 Years of the Hachiroku—and the passion is still going strong! 🇯🇵🔥

On August 6, 2026, approximately 90 AE86s gathered at Fuji Speedway Short Course for the annual “8/6 Seriously Addicted!! Hachiroku Driving Event.”

First introduced in 1983, the Toyota AE86 and its legendary 4A-G engine have played an important role in shaping Japanese tuning culture. More than four decades later, their unmistakable sound, unique driving character, and endless tuning potential continue to inspire enthusiasts around the world.

TOMEI USA visited this very special event to capture the incredible cars, people, sounds, and passion that continue to keep the Hachiroku spirit alive.

For owners of the Z33 350Z, Z34 370Z, and RZ34 400Z who would like to enjoy more responsive acceleration and make even better use of their 6-speed manual transmission, we are pleased to introduce the TOMEI 3.916 Final Drive Gear Set.

Compatible vehicles:

Changing to the TOMEI 3.916 final drive ratio provides shorter gearing, helping the vehicle respond more quickly to throttle input and delivering a stronger, more engaging feeling of acceleration.

For the RZ34 400Z, the factory final drive ratio is 3.538. Changing to the TOMEI 3.916 ratio makes the gearing approximately 10% shorter, improving acceleration response and making the connection between 2nd and 3rd gear even more enjoyable.

🏆 QUALIFYING WINNER & 3RD PLACE IN TANDEM 🏆

TOMEI USA-supported young drift driver Manato Mogi of 27WORKS competed in FORMULA DRIFT JAPAN 2 Round 4 at Sportsland SUGO.

Although this was his first time driving at SUGO, Manato showed consistent speed from practice onward. He scored 87 points on his first solo qualifying run, then improved to 89 points on his second run to earn first place in qualifying!

In the tandem competition, intermittent rain created difficult and rapidly changing track conditions. Despite the challenge, Manato advanced to the Final 4 and finished third overall.

Following his runner-up finish at Ebisu in Round 3, this marked his second consecutive podium finish. He currently remains third in the championship standings with 262 points.

TOMEI USA is honored to support Manato and the entire 27WORKS team. We sincerely appreciate everyone who continues to cheer them on!

Manato Mogi Finishes Runner-Up After an Intense One More Time Battle at FDJ2 Round 3!

The legendary Ebisu Circuit West Course once again delivered an unforgettable weekend of drifting.

Despite extremely challenging wet conditions throughout the event, TOMEI-supported driver Manato Mogi (27WORKS) put together an incredible performance, qualifying 3rd before battling through the elimination rounds to reach the final.

There, he faced current championship leader Ryuki Nakamura in an exciting showdown that was so close it required a One More Time decision. Although he narrowly missed the top step of the podium, Manato secured an outstanding Runner-Up finish, moving up to 3rd in the Formula Drift Japan 2 Championship standings.

Congratulations to Manato Mogi and the entire 27WORKS team on an amazing weekend. We're proud to support such an incredible effort and can't wait for the second half of the season!

One of the best parts of the JDM world isn't just the cars—it's the people behind them.

Last weekend, our friends at KUNNYZ hosted another amazing track day at Mobara Circuit in Japan. Around 90 cars and nearly 700 enthusiasts came together to enjoy drifting, grip driving, and everything that makes Japanese car culture so special.

There's something inspiring about seeing purpose-built cars being driven the way they were meant to be, friends catching up in the paddock, and an entire community sharing the same passion.

🏁 FDJ2 Round 2 – Suzuka Twin Circuit 🏁

TOMEI USA-supported driver Manato Mogi delivered another strong performance in Round 2 of the 2026 FORMULA DRIFT JAPAN 2 Championship at Suzuka Twin Circuit.

Despite encountering a boost leak issue during practice, Manato remained focused and qualified an impressive 8th place against a highly competitive field.

After repairs were completed, he fought his way through the TOP 32 and advanced to the TOP 16, ultimately facing HINATO, who finished 3rd overall at the event.

✅ Earned 36 Championship Points
✅ Currently 5th in FDJ2 Series Standings

The season is still young, and with only a few points separating the top drivers, the championship battle is far from over.
