We became aware of a text message accidentally sent from one employee to another that contained racially offensive language. The message, which was sent to a black employee, included text that said “…don’t hire any more blacks...they don’t matter.” Ultimately, the employee that sent the message was fired.

We do not tolerate any discriminatory behavior and take issues like this very seriously. We have policies, practices, and training in place to ensure that this sentiment is understood at all levels and that any issues that may arise are handled appropriately. All employees will be receiving additional training to reinforce our company policies. We are deeply sorry for any harm or stress caused by the actions of our employee. We take pride in being a company that was founded on diversity and inclusion and will continue to operate based on those principles at all levels of the organization.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

On March 17th, 2021, Deputy Dallas Edeburn of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota was responding to a call to assist another agency. While en route, with emergency lights on, Deputy Edeburn's patrol car was broadsided by a fleeing suspect. The impact caused Deputy Edeburn's patrol car to spin around and strike another vehicle before catching fire.

While the suspect escaped the incident unscathed, Deputy Edeburn unfortunately suffered serious injuries in the incident, including a broken knee cap, broken toe, possible head injury, fractured ribs and a bruised lung.

While Deputy Edeburn has a long road to recovery, we are pleased to share that he has a path to return to full duty once his body heals and we are hopeful that he will back to full duty soon.

Zechariah, along with the Running 4 Heroes Board of Directors, are excited to announce that Deputy Dallas Edeburn of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office is our April recipient of the $10,000 Injured First Responder Grant!

With this Grant, Zechariah has now been able to award $126,500 in funding to 17 different heroes since January, 2020!

Due to climate of the region, we will not be announcing the time/date of when this presentation will take place, but we do plan to join our friends with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office in the coming weeks and will be sure to share the Grant Presentation and run when they occur.

Zechariah is excited to visit the state of Minnesota for the first time, and to show support and appreciation to some of the finest heroes that Minnesota has to offer! Our continued prayers go out to Deputy Edeburn as he completes his recovery, and we thank him for being a hero and role model that Zechariah can look up to!

🎖

On November 2, 2019, Deputy Melissa Miller from the Yucaipa Police Department responded to a traffic collision. Miller arrived and found a man and a woman with open compound fractures on each of their right legs from the collision and were screaming in pain. Miller determined the man had a major arterial bleed from his severely injured, nearly amputated leg. She applied a tourniquet and was able to stop the bleeding. Both the man and woman were transported to the hospital for their injuries. Miller’s timely application of the tourniquet prevented the loss of the man’s leg and very likely saved his life.
