DYK? Those little bumps on sidewalk curb ramps are called truncated domes, and they serve to warn those who are visually impaired that they are about to leave the sidewalk and enter a street. The bumps can be felt with a white cane and under your feet.
In the last five years, crews have installed more than 10,000 curb ramps on state highways in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Learn more about our commitment to accessibility: https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/doing-bus/civil-rights/titlevi-ada/ADAcompliance.aspx
