Job Title:
Zoo Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a reliable, practical, and hardworking Maintenance Technician to keep our zoo grounds safe, clean, and fully operational for our animals, staff, and guests.
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will handle everything from habitat repairs to general facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair zoo buildings, grounds, fences, and animal enclosures. Perform routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical troubleshooting. Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests across the park. Ensure a clean and safe environment by removing debris and hazards.
Schedule Requirements:
Must be available to work a rotating schedule. Every other weekend is mandatory. Every other holiday is mandatory. All weather conditions.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
Problem-Solving:
A high level of common sense and practical decision-making skills.
Work Ethic:
Strong internal drive, dependability, and a commitment to quality work.
Adaptability:
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions around animals.
Experience: Previous experience in general maintenance, construction, or landscaping is preferred but not required.
