Job Summary:
Auto Glass Apprentice Technicians will learn to identify and repair cracked, chipped, or damaged windshields. Working with a Mentor/Trainer, the apprentice will be certified in the latest windshield repair techniques and learn to identify and repair damaged windshields, read and complete work order estimates efficiently and effectively using the Sterling Auto Glass mobile invoicing app and secondary invoing platforms. Apprentices will be coached to perform insurance verification phone calls and submission of completed work orders. This is an entry-level position and will be a great gateway to the next level through coaching, training, and experience. This is a sales position that is 100% commission based and the $20-80/hour is based entirely on performance and jobs completed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist with the repair of the windshields
- Complete documentation of repair orders on a mobile device
- Efficiently prioritize and manage your time to complete assigned service calls and invoice processing
- Perform other job duties as needed, but not limited to the stated essential job functions
You are/have:
- Prior experience in the auto glass industry. Recommended but not required
- Prior sales experience recommended but not required
- Self-motivated and a problem solver
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Clean driver license and your own form of reliable transportation
- Can work a flexible schedule 3+ days per week. Note: our business hours are between 9-5p
- Must be at least 18 years of age or have a valid work permit
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
This is a mobile position based out of a work vehicle. Work will be performed both outdoors and in shop environments. Occasional physical activity such as reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to inspect repairs, and lifting and carrying objects over 50lbs. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise. Subject to weather conditions both inside and outside. Required to wear protective equipment when necessary. Occasional sedentary work including driving to and from work assignments. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
