⚠️ The Real Cost of a Bad Mechanic ⚠️
Normally, I don’t like posting anything that could come off as negative — but this one needs to be said.
The one thing that’ll cost you the most with your vehicle isn’t the parts or the labor… it’s hiring the wrong mechanic.
Take a look at this example 👇
I’ve had a customer who’s been calling me for about a month now — every time it’s another issue caused by the previous mechanic. From faulty wiring to installing used parts that failed (like a water pump), and even completely ignoring basic procedures like torque specs.
In the photos below, you’ll see damage caused by a mechanic who used an impact gun on an oil pan. The torque spec for those bolts is only 18 ft-lbs — something you can easily achieve with a regular ratchet. There’s absolutely no reason to use power tools here.
Because of that mistake, this customer was forced to drive for weeks with a major oil leak, spending $30–$50 a week just topping off oil, and eventually had to spend hundreds of dollars more for a new oil pan — all for a job that was supposedly “done” just a few months ago.
Here at TNT Automotive Works, our goal is simple: get you back on the road safely and do it right the first time.
I’ll be the first to admit — I make mistakes too. Probably every day. But the difference is, I own my mistakes and I make them right. This customer (and many others) can back that up.
So take this as a friendly reminder:
If something doesn’t feel right, get a second opinion. Don’t pay to have something done twice.
But if you want it done once — and done right —
