Keeping your trailer in top shape means knowing when to replace your trailer tires. Whether you’re hauling heavy loads or heading out for a weekend adventure, the right tires make all the difference in safety and comfort. Make sure your tires can handle your trailer’s weight, as overloading can lead to blowouts and instability. Choose radial tires for highway trips or bias-ply for rugged use, and always match tires in pairs or sets for even wear. Regularly check for wear, cracks, and proper pressure before every journey. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and keep your tires clean for longer life. Taking these simple steps helps you avoid unexpected issues and keeps your trailer running smoothly. What are the black streaks on my RV, and how do I remove them? We have an answer!

" The black streaks are caused by the sun drying out the rubber roof and the rain washing the residue down onto the side of your trailer. They can be prevented by using cleaners and UV protectants applied to the rubber roof two to four times each year. A black streak remover such as "Black Streak Remover" from Bio-Kleen, will eliminate black streaks that are already on your trailer."

The lights on my trailer aren't working properly. What should I check first? We have an answer!

"Most trailer electrical problems are caused by improper grounding. Make sure all wires are properly grounded and also check all connections including the plugs on the trailer and towing vehicle to be sure they are free of corrosion."

If you drive an RV, you know how often it needs new parts like brakes, tires, and lights. RVs experience heavier wear and tear compared to regular vehicles because they carry more weight and travel long distances, often through tough environments like rough roads and extreme weather. All the extra features in RVs, such as fridges, electrical hookups, and bathrooms, mean there are more components that need regular attention. That is why it is important to stay ahead with preventative maintenance and rely on a trailer parts company that understands your needs. Keeping up with routine replacements helps minimize downtime and keeps your RV running smoothly for years to come. Want to keep your RV in top shape? Visit our website or give us a call today.
