In honor of the Sloan Museum Auto Fair taking place this weekend at Crossroad Village in Flint, we've popped the hoods (or in the case of Mr. Mott's 1969 Corvair, popped the trunk) on many of our rare vehicles currently on display in the Durant Vehicle Gallery! Wondering what the engine of the 1954 Buick Wildcat II experimental car looks like? (It's a beauty!) Have you ever imagined how they engineered the engine for a 2 ton 1936 Buick Model 91? (Gas prices were about $0.16/gallon in 1936, which is roughly equivalent to $3.50 to $4.00 today). What about the 1953 Corvette (the one on display is #112 of the 300 built in Flint and its engine is as sleek as its body)? The hoods will only be open Friday-Sunday this week. General Admission to Sloan Museum is free for Genesee County residents (thanks to the Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment millage).
