Trail rides are better when everyone rides safely. 🚲🌲

Before you head out, remember these 3 quick bike safety tips:

1️⃣ Wear your helmet
A properly fitted helmet is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself on every ride.

2️⃣ Ride at a comfortable speed
Slow down on curves, hills, loose gravel, and busy trail areas. Especially when riding with family or groups.

3️⃣ Communicate on the trail
Use your bell or voice when passing, call out “on your left,” and keep a safe distance from other riders and walkers.

🚲 New to bike maintenance? Here are a few DIY fixes/checks you can do at home before your next ride.

A little bike care goes a long way, and you don’t need to be a pro mechanic to handle the basics:

✅ Check your tire pressure
Look on the side of your tire for the recommended PSI range, then use a pump with a gauge. Proper tire pressure helps prevent flats and makes your ride feel smoother.

✅ Listen to your shifting
If your bike skips gears, hesitates, or sounds clicky in the back, your rear derailleur may need a small adjustment. Sometimes a quarter-turn of the barrel adjuster can help fine-tune cable tension.

✅ Inspect your shift cable
Frayed, rusty, or loose cables can make shifting rough or unreliable. If the cable looks worn or won’t hold tension, it may be time to replace or tighten it.

These quick checks can make your ride safer, smoother, and more fun.
