Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Kyle Busch. Racing lost one of its greatest talents yesterday, and the entire motorsports community mourns this tremendous loss. Kyle’s passion, dedication, and impact on the sport will never be forgotten. We just posted a new tech blog covering how and why to buff a dirt racing tire, including equipment recommendations, heat control, sharpening tread edges, storage tips, and common mistakes racers make during the process.

Our goal with posts like this is simple: help racers understand their tires better and make better decisions at the track.

Our thoughts are with Tyler's family. The entire racing community is mourning with you.

We’re saddened to share that Tyler Ritchey — a 33-year-old from Woodbury, Pa., who beat the odds to become a winning Dirt Late Model driver at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway after suffering a paralyzing injury at the age of 18 — died Monday night at a hospital in Johnstown, Pa., from health complications that struck him last week.

Every tip is something we are doing on our own race cars. Winning races, championships and running tires for multiple nights. 🔥 Grooving Tires: Soft vs. Hard Compounds — What’s the Difference? 🔥

Not all tire grooving is created equal! 🏁 Whether you’re running a soft compound or stuck with a hard compound due to tire rules, how you groove your tires can make a big difference in traction and consistency.

✅ Soft compounds flex more and usually have enough factory grooves for wet/tacky/loose tracks — but adding too much can weaken tread blocks and cause distortion.
✅ Hard compounds often need extra grooves and sipes to create more edges for bite, especially in cooler temps before the tire comes up to heat.
