Momentum is building for a long-envisioned community project in Berlin.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s proposed state budget includes $300,000 toward a future skate plaza at Heron Park, a major step forward for a project driven by years of community advocacy and planning. If approved, the funding would support a larger redevelopment effort alongside new public facilities and private investment planned for the area.
The proposed skate park would create a dedicated recreational space for local youth while strengthening Berlin’s growing network of community-centered amenities. Additional funding opportunities are still under review, and project leaders remain optimistic as the process moves forward.
