All I can say is my hats off to all that attempt to become a small business owner. This just about sums it up…..

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work-life balance.

You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All while being husband or a wife, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed.

It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives.

Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

And know that 2022 prices are not 2023 prices.

RTR is looking for a Mechanic to join our team!

This position will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing and repairing various engine and transmission systems.

Essential Job Functions:
- Repair light, medium, and heavy duty diesel/gas truck
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts
- Perform complete computer diagnostics and are familiar with latest diagnostic equipment
- Identify and report potentially dangerous equipment and additional repairs needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance
- Specialize in vehicle transmission systems
- Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer
- Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in automotive/truck, light and medium equipment maintenance and repair
- Completion of accredited vocational technical school program preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening
- Must have their own set of basic tools

Experience & Skills:
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair
- Working knowledge of fuel, ignition, cooling, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air brake systems
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing vehicles and equipment
- Skill in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information
- Ability to perform inspections/diagnostics with minimal supervision
- Team oriented
- Positive attitude

RTR Roger’s Truck Repair is looking for a l**e tech, an entry level tech. and an experienced Gas, or diesel technicians.

These positions will be responsible for -
-Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing various computer, electrical systems, engine, transmission, and suspension on SUV’s, Pickup Trucks, and medium duty trucks.
-Light to Medium duty gas and diesel engine diagnostic and repair.
-Inspect brake, and steering systems.
-Perform computer diagnostics. A plus if you are familiar with latest diagnostic equipment.
-Perform routine oil and filter changes.
-Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer
-Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
-Must be 17 years of age with drivers license.
- Willing to work 40 hours a week, with guaranteed 40 hours of pay.
-Experience in automotive or pickup truck gas or diesel engines.
- A plus for experience in medium / heavy duty truck maintenance and repair
Maintain a safe, clean, work area.
-Must have their own set of basic tools
Experience & Skills with:
-Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair
-willing to learn or have knowledge of fuel, ignition, cooling, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and brake systems
- Willing to learn safety procedures
-Requires operating had tools and shop equipment.
-Ability to effectively communicate
-Ability to read service and technical information
-Ability to learn to perform inspections/diagnostics
-Team oriented
-Positive attitude

4 - 9 hour work days and off every Friday at noon.
