🌅 TUESDAY MORNING DEVOTION

A MOTHER’S LOVE — AND A PLAN SHE COULDN’T YET SEE

Good morning, Felicity. ❤️

There is something powerful about a mother’s love.

A mother will protect her child when she’s afraid herself. She’ll lose sleep, sacrifice, pray, worry and somehow keep going when her own heart is breaking.

The Bible tells us about a mother named Jochebed, the mother of Moses.

She lived during a terrifying time. Pharaoh had ordered that the newborn Hebrew boys be killed.

Imagine being a mother holding your beautiful baby boy, knowing the world outside your door wanted to take him from you.

For three months, Jochebed hid Moses.

She must have listened to every little cry and worried someone would hear. She knew she couldn’t hide him forever.

Eventually she faced something no mother would ever want to face.

She had to let him go.

She carefully made a little basket, covered it so water couldn’t get inside, placed her baby in it and set it among the reeds along the Nile.

I wonder how long her hands stayed on that basket before she finally released it.

I wonder how many tears fell as she watched it leave her reach.

Because sometimes loving someone means doing everything you possibly can…

and then trusting God with what you cannot control.

What Jochebed couldn’t see was that God was already ahead of that little basket.

Pharaoh’s own daughter found Moses.

And then something remarkable happened: Moses’ sister Miriam approached her and offered to find a Hebrew woman to nurse the baby.

She brought Moses’ own mother.

The child Jochebed had surrendered into God’s hands was placed back into hers for a season—and she was even paid to care for him.

But God’s plan was bigger still.

That helpless baby floating among the reeds would grow into Moses—the man God would use to lead His people out of slavery.

Jochebed couldn’t possibly have known all of that while standing beside the Nile.

She only knew she loved her son, had done everything she could, and now had to trust God with the rest.

Maybe that’s where some mothers, fathers and grandparents are today.

You’ve taught them.
You’ve protected them.
You’ve warned them.
You’ve loved them.
You’ve stayed awake worrying about them.
And you’ve prayed prayers over them they may never even know about.

But there comes a point when we have to remember:

Our children belonged to God before they ever belonged to us.

We cannot follow them everywhere.

We cannot prevent every mistake.

We cannot control every decision.

But God can go places a mother’s hands cannot reach.

So keep praying over those babies—even when those “babies” are 10, 20, 40 or 60 years old.

And when you’ve done everything you know to do, place that basket in the water and say:

“Lord, I trust You with what I love most.”

❤️ Tuesday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Today we pray for the mothers, fathers, grandparents and caregivers of our community.

Thank You for the children You’ve entrusted to us.

Give us wisdom to know when to hold them close and faith to know when we must place them into Your hands.

Protect the little ones who cannot protect themselves. Guide our teenagers and young adults as they find their way. Watch over our grown children wherever life has taken them.

And for the parent lying awake tonight worrying about a child—bring peace to that heart.

Remind us of Jochebed and that little basket floating down the Nile.

What looked like a frightened mother’s last option was already floating straight into God’s greater plan.

Help us trust that You are working in places we cannot see.

In Jesus’ precious name, Amen. ❤️

A mother’s hands eventually have to let go.
A mother’s prayers never do.
And God’s hands never have to. ✝️

🌅 MONDAY MORNING DEVOTION

FOR THE HEART THAT’S TIRED OF BEING STRONG

Good morning, Felicity. ❤️

There are some wounds nobody can see.

You can get dressed. Go to work. Take care of your family. Laugh with somebody. Answer “I’m fine” when they ask how you’re doing—and still carry a heart that feels absolutely exhausted.

The Bible tells us about a woman who understood that kind of exhaustion.

For twelve years, she suffered from an illness that caused her to bleed. She had gone from doctor to doctor. She had spent what she had trying to get better, yet instead of improving, Scripture tells us she grew worse.

Twelve years is a long time to hurt.

A long time to pray.

A long time to wonder why nothing is changing.

Then one day she heard that Jesus was coming.

A crowd surrounded Him, but something inside her said, If I can just reach Him…

So this tired, hurting woman pushed through the crowd.

She didn’t give a beautiful speech.

She didn’t have the strength for anything elaborate.

She simply reached out and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment.

And Jesus stopped.

Think about that.

There were people everywhere, yet Jesus noticed one hurting person reaching for Him.

He turned to her and said:

“Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” — Mark 5:34 KJV

Maybe that’s the message for somebody this morning.

Jesus still notices the hurting one in the crowd.

He sees the tears you wipe away before anyone notices.

He knows about the relationship you’re worried about.

He knows the diagnosis you’re afraid of.

He knows about the child you’re praying for, the bills sitting on the table, the grief you carry, the loneliness you don’t talk about, and the thoughts that keep you awake when everyone else is sleeping.

Philippians 4 tells us to bring those worries to God in prayer—and that His peace will guard our hearts and minds.

Psalm 46:1 reminds us:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

And Psalm 121 reminds us that the Lord watches over us.

Notice something beautiful about all three:

God doesn’t promise that His children will never have trouble.

He promises we won’t face it without Him.

Sometimes His answer changes the situation.

Sometimes He sends someone to walk beside us.

And sometimes, before anything around us changes, He gives a wounded heart enough peace and strength to make it through another day.

So if all you can manage today is reaching for the hem of His garment…

Reach.

If your prayer is only “Jesus, help me,” pray it.

If you’re tired, rest in Him.

If you’re scared, tell Him.

And if you notice somebody else struggling, don’t just tell them you’ll pray—be willing to become part of that prayer’s answer. Make the call. Bring the meal. Sit beside them. Listen. Check again tomorrow.

Because sometimes God’s comfort reaches a hurting person through the hands of another human being.

🙏 Our Prayer

Lord Jesus,

Today we pray especially for the wounded hearts in our little community.

For those who are sick, grieving, lonely, worried, overwhelmed or simply tired of having to be strong—draw near to them.

Give peace to the anxious mind.
Strength to the weary body.
Comfort to the grieving heart.
Hope to the person who feels forgotten.

And Lord, open our eyes to one another. Don’t let us become so busy with our own lives that we walk past someone who desperately needs kindness.

Help Felicity be the kind of community where nobody has to hurt completely alone.

We place what we cannot control into Your hands, trusting that You see us, You hear us, and You are still with us.

In Jesus’ precious name, Amen. ❤️

You may feel lost in the crowd—but you are never lost to Jesus.

FELICITY STRONG. JESUS STRONGER. ✝️❤️

🌅 SUNDAY MORNING DEVOTION

WHEN GOD ASKS FOR YOUR YES

Good morning, Felicity. ❤️ Happy Sunday.

Sometimes we pray, “Lord, show me what to do.” But what happens when He does—and the answer requires us to move?

There’s a powerful example in the story of Abraham.

God told Abraham to leave his country, his home, and everything familiar and go to a land God would show him.

There was no map. No detailed explanation. No guarantee that the journey would be easy.

Just a command—and a promise.

And Abraham went.

“So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him…” — Genesis 12:4 KJV

Think about that this Sunday morning.

Abraham didn’t wait until he understood the whole plan. He trusted the One who made the plan.

Sometimes that’s where faith becomes difficult.

We want God to show us the destination before we take the first step. We want certainty before obedience. We want to know how everything will work out before we’re willing to move.

But faith often sounds like:

“Lord, I don’t completely understand—but I trust You enough to say yes.”

Proverbs 16:3 tells us:

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

Maybe God’s been putting something on your heart.

Forgive somebody.
Help somebody.
Make the phone call.
Walk away from something you know isn’t right.
Take the opportunity you’ve been afraid to take.
Spend more time with your family.
Come back to church.
Start praying again.
Simply be still long enough to hear Him.

Don’t let fear keep answering “no” when your heart knows God is asking for “yes.”

And remember—obedience doesn’t mean everything becomes easy. Abraham faced plenty of difficult days after he left home.

Faith isn’t believing the road will always be easy. It’s believing God will be faithful wherever the road leads.

🙏 Our Sunday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for another Sunday morning and another day of life.

Help us surrender our plans to You. When You call us, give us courage to answer. When You redirect us, give us humility to listen. And when we cannot see where the road leads, give us enough faith to take the next step.

Bless Felicity today. Bless every church opening its doors, every family gathering around a table, every person working today, every person who is sick or hurting, and everyone quietly carrying something heavy.

Help us be people who don’t just speak about faith—but live it.

May our answer to You be:

“Yes, Lord. Lead me, and I’ll follow.”

In Jesus’ precious name, Amen. ❤️

You don’t have to see the whole road when you trust the One leading you.

FELICITY STRONG. JESUS STRONGER. ✝️❤️

🌅 SATURDAY MORNING DEVOTION

WHEN YOU CAN’T SEE THE WAY

Good morning, Felicity. ❤️

Sometimes God brings us to a place where we simply cannot see what comes next.

That reminds me of Moses and the Israelites at the Red Sea.

They had finally escaped Egypt, but suddenly Pharaoh’s army was behind them and the Red Sea was in front of them.

There was nowhere to run.

Imagine standing there thinking, “God, You brought us this far… now what?”

And Moses told the people:

“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.” — Exodus 14:13 KJV

Then God did what nobody standing on that shoreline could have imagined.

He made a road where there had never been a road.

The water parted.

The Israelites walked across on dry ground.

What looked like a dead end became their path forward.

Maybe that’s where somebody in Felicity is this morning. You don’t need a perfect plan—you need enough faith to take the next step when God opens the way.

You may be facing bills you don’t know how you’ll pay, a family situation you can’t fix, a prayer that hasn’t been answered, grief you can’t shake, or simply a season where you don’t know what tomorrow holds.

Don’t mistake “I can’t see a way” for “there is no way.”

Isaiah 43:19 reminds us:

“I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

God made a road through a sea.

He provided manna in a wilderness.

He brought water from a rock.

And He is still God today.

🙏 Saturday Prayer

Lord,

For every person waking up worried this morning, remind them that You are already standing in the tomorrow they cannot see.

Give us faith when we’re afraid, patience while we’re waiting, and courage when it’s time to move.

Bless our little community. Watch over our families, children, elderly, first responders, workers, businesses and churches. Help us notice the person beside us who may be struggling quietly—and give us hearts willing to help.

When we see no way forward, Lord, remind us that You have made roads through impossible places before.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️

Sometimes faith is simply standing at the water’s edge and trusting God with what happens next.
