Shop Talk 101: Power Inverters 🔌

Ed walks us through a power inverter install in a Ford Transit. Charge your drill, your flashlight, or any gear you need that takes a regular plug, right from your van.

The part you don’t see matters most: a fuse to protect the circuit, and an isolator that shuts it off before your van battery gets too low. No getting stranded on the job.

The upfit isn't the expensive part. Doing it twice is.

This van rolled in with shelving screwed into wood strips, units bolted to the floor in one spot, a top shelf wedged against the roof, and a unit too big to clear the doors.

None of it shows up on day one. It shows up in year two.

So we pulled it and rebuilt it: sized to the van, anchored to the structure, spaced for how this crew actually works.
