🎙Music Artist... Petey Pablo, born Moses Barrett III on July 22, 1973, in Greenville, North Carolina, is a Grammy-nominated rapper, songwriter, actor, and one of the defining voices of early-2000s Southern hip-hop.

Pablo broke into the national spotlight in 2001 with “Raise Up,” a Timbaland-produced anthem that became a musical declaration of North Carolina pride and reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His debut album, Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry, reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200, earned Gold certification, and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.

He followed with Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry in 2004, powered by “Freek-A-Leek,” which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also appeared on Ciara's “Goodies,” which became a No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit.

Beyond music, Pablo has worked in film and television, including appearances in Drumline, Just Another Day, and Empire.

His catalog remains closely associated with North Carolina culture, particularly through “Raise Up” and later “Carolina Colors.” In 2024, he was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, recognizing his national musical impact and roots in the state.

Petey Pablo's legacy is rooted in a distinctive Southern sound, a recognizable gravelly delivery, and an enduring connection to North Carolina.
