A big step for U.S. manufacturing and the future of mobility. Bosch and the U.S. Department of Commerce have reached a direct funding agreement for up to $225 million as part of a $2 billion investment by Bosch in Roseville, California.

We are transforming the Roseville site for the production of silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors. Silicon carbide chips production in the U.S. supports supply chain resiliency and local sourcing for automotive manufacturers and industrial energy applications.

Sample production is already underway in Roseville, and we intend to start commercial manufacturing in 2026 – just three years after purchasing the site. We are building on the 40 years of semiconductor expertise in Roseville with a new chapter in Silicon carbide.

Bosch is committed to the U.S. as we celebrated our 120-year anniversary of operations here and we plan to invest up to $7.5 billion in our U.S. operations by 2031.
