Garrett Paz and several other people have reached out to me recently to ask some welding related questions and indirectly ask if i could help them learn.

Some welder/fabricators might see this as taking food off their plate. They may be offended that people would rather do it themselves than pay for their services. I get it but I am not that kind of person.
I love being able to teach someone that is as eager to learn as i am.

So I'm tossing around the idea of putting a small class together for the homeboys that want to learn. If you are in the NY, NJ, CT area Comment below or Tag someone you think welds like s**t and would want them to attend. 😆

I could sit for hours welding doublers on. Its quick, easy and lets you brush up on your skills. Most importantly it lets me relax and focus on something else. You can't get much more simple than this! Notch 2 tubes at once for a perfect 13.5 degree ball joint angle. We're going to try to get this process a little more automated on a VMC one day. In the past I thought about having the tubes laser cut so that they were pre notched, but bending them exactly as we needed became difficult and left too much room for error.
Maybe one day we'll grow enough to purchase a machine that can laser cut and bend the material one operation......always thinking LEAN 🤓

As a small business owner I found that Facebook groups were a great way to connect with a community, offer my products and spread the word. They are a great way to really help people in need, share information, bounce ideas off each other and to grow a business organically.
I've also found that many groups do not want people to promote their business or service. To me, this does not grow a community.

Over time it has become increasingly difficult to promote your business through social media without having to pay to play. Even public Facebook groups will try to shake you down for money. So it's time for something new.

I love welding these lower control arm brackets. We need to speed up the process though. I'll probably machine a few billet aluminum blocks to make them go together in one shot. Once we do that i'll post the time differece and see which method wins 🤓

I caught this on Facebook the other day and felt immediately terrible for Kip Broaddus. Thank God he walked away from the crash.
We live in the most technologically advanced time in world history and yet some companies can't even properly weld two pieces of metal together. There are at least a dozen ways to improve the construction of this part. But someone said it would be fine with just one small fillet weld. It's Sad.

I've worked for companies in the past where things were "good enough" and sent out the door. Places where corners are always cut to save a dime. Just getting parts out the door is prioritized over quality. Places where entry level experience is expected to produce the results of seasoned skilled craftsman.
The catastrophic result of this failure might not be typical, but it's a great example of what could happen. Do some research on the companys you're buying from. Look at the welds, look at the quality, inspect everything, don't settle for anything less than perfection.
Just because everyone is using that companies parts does not mean It's always the best option, especially when you are traveling almost 200mph in less than 8 seconds.
