J.A. Choate Restorations
A ‘71 Plymouth Duster was Jason’s first car. It needed a lot of TLC before it was road worthy so he got to work tuning it up and eventually painted it the ever so popular 70s color, plum purple. He spent the following three years tinkering and making it his own. The Duster became more than just a hobby and it sparked Jason to find another project.
In 1999, he purchased an old Chevy pickup for $200 in an effort to become a self-taught welder & fabricator with the goal of launching an automotive restoration career. This project would officially mark the beginning of J.A. Choate Restorations. At 17, and never having welded before, this truck became the catalyst for Jason to learn the skills of metal fabrication and design. While working at a local machine shop, he rebuilt the engine and installed it in a modified chase. From there, he fabricated the body panels, completed the auto body work, and prepped it for paint. Because it provided an outlet for endless creativity as well as the opportunity to make something one of a kind, specialty paint work quickly become Jason’s favorite part of the job.
Over the years, countless cars and trucks have come to J.A. Choate Restorations & Fabrication and our services have grown to now cover all areas of the restoration process. From original restorations to one-off custom builds, we work with clients to give a finished product made exactly to your specifications. For consultations, mark ups, or just general questions, come to the shop or email Jason at [email protected]
J.A. Choate Restorations & Fabrications certainly specializes in automotive restorations, but also takes on aggregate equipment, heavy machinery, semi/dump trucks, and trailers. If you have a different project that requires fabrication or custom painting, we would love to work on it with you.
