Today we had a long-time customer bring in their 2017 BMW X5 with a misfire on cylinders 1 and 5. After running a compression test, we found cylinder 5 is extremely low, around 30 PSI compared to 155 PSI on the healthy cylinders.
With 382,000 miles on the clock, this tells us there’s internal engine wear that needs deeper investigation. Next step is tearing in further to find the root cause and give the customer clear answers on the best path forward.
High mileage or not, proper diagnostics always come first. 🛠️
