Today we had a long-time customer bring in their 2017 BMW X5 with a misfire on cylinders 1 and 5. After running a compression test, we found cylinder 5 is extremely low, around 30 PSI compared to 155 PSI on the healthy cylinders.
With 382,000 miles on the clock, this tells us there’s internal engine wear that needs deeper investigation. Next step is tearing in further to find the root cause and give the customer clear answers on the best path forward.
High mileage or not, proper diagnostics always come first. 🛠️

2011 BMW came into the shop with a customer complaint of tight steering at low speeds. After inspection, we found the cause, a failed steering universal joint, a common issue on these models that leads to binding and stiff steering.

Proper diagnosis makes all the difference. Replaced and steering back to smooth and responsive. 🛠️

2014 BMW X5 (N57) diesel came in on a tow, no crank, no start. After digging in, we found the high pressure direct injection pump failed internally, sending metal through the fuel lines and destroying the injectors in the process.
Full fuel system overhaul underway: new pump, new injectors, lines flushed and cleaned. This is the level of damage you don’t want to ignore, and exactly why proper diagnostics matter. 🛠️💪
