Classic 1985 Spartan. "The Luxury/Sports car that people notice" Custom car built on Nissan 300ZX frame and engine. 6 cylinder, automatic, with air conditioning, power windows. A real head turner.
General information on the Spartan II Automobile: Automotive designer Ron Sparks designed the Spartan II automobile for luxury auto builder Ned Lamoureaux. Ron Sparks a kit car. They were hand built in San Diego at Spartan's own factory. This Spartan II was placed on a Nissan 300ZX chassis, thereby utilizing the luxury components that are the 300ZX such as:
- High performance but fuel efficient 6 cylinder engine
-4- speed automatic transmission
-Digital gauges
-Power windows
-Power steering
-Power disc brakes
-Power door locks
-Climate controlled heat and air conditioning
-Opera windows and t-tops
-Bucket seats and back seat
-Authentic wire wheels
Only 300 rare beauties were produced at the factory in 1985, most of which were purchased by celebrities, including such stars as Eddie Murphy, Larry Holms, and Joan Collins. A Spartan II was used in the film 101 Dalmatians starring Glenn Close. Due to the huge expense of producing the Spartan II, none have been built for nearly over 30 years. This is perhaps the finest example of a true classic car today.
