Duke and I are having fun and jobbing it. We have garlic a couple months from harvest and the onions and potatoes are all bedded in and coming up. Pumpkins are just coming up and we are covering the black plastic with grass clippings. Might be the best garden yet. We keep busy but always happy to help with uncooperative machines We had one mower come in today that the owner tipped completely upside down for some reason....we had it sorted in 15 mins with a sharpened blade and oil change. Duke has noticed that the 'turnaround time' on machines tends to be the second most important thing for lawnmowers and tillers and generators. He thinks that is our strongest attribute. Looking back the last few months....the average turnaround time is 1.3 ish days.

I agreed.

We limit our customers to those that have machines you don't sit on or hold in your hand....

Duke and I had a busy day. Three machines (two lawnmowers and one wheeled trimmer) came in today. None of them would start or run. We got all three running and serviced. Each one needed the carb removed and cleaned (along with all the normal stuff). One customer had it the same day, the other one is collecting tomorrow, and the third is waiting on a gasket as it was leaking...so not a perfect Trifecta.

We limit ourself to the machines that we work on and we usually have all the parts on hand to turn them back over quickly.

PS, we ordered two of the gaskets so that if it happens again, we'll have one ready!

In case this is your first time seeing one of Duke's posts...We don't work on machines you sit on, nor do we work on those that are handheld...and no, we don't do electric or battery powered machines.

We've been busy the last month. One of the things we did in our nearly 30 year old doublewide was remodel the bathroom. We still have some trim work to do, and I'm not keen on the sink, but it's nearly there. Yes, that is aluminium diamond plate as wainscotting and yes, that is a toolbox.

UPDATE: REHOMED TO A COAST GUARD VETERAN!

Duke and I had this 1986 snowblower in a couple years ago. The engine was bad, but the machine itself was perfect. We did a Harbor Freight engine swop and it ran (still does) like a beast. The owner got a hold of us a couple months ago and was moving and asked if we'd take it back to rehome to a Veteran. We agreed. So, if you are a military veteran, and would like to be the new keeper of this machine, let us know.

Warranty work...We are a service centre that does warranty work for a few companies. The one manufacturer that is the absolute best for us to work with is Champion. This log splitter came in about 1000 today (Saturday). We diagnosed the problem as a leaking hydraulic pump seal and by 1045 I contacted Champion and the parts will be shipped on Monday. The cost to the customer will be zero.

Today was a first...we had a power outage and were running on generator power...then we got a generator in that wasn't cooperating. So we got to fix an uncooperative generator while we were running on generator power.

Yep, the uncooperative genny was in and out of the shop in less than an hour.

So after our power came back on we did a service on our two primary gennys. It's been about ten months and 12 hours run time since the last service. We use non ethanol fuel and service every year or 24 hours of use (whichever comes first). The first one is 23 ish years old...the second about five years old. We don't plan on ever buying another.
