Ever work on something way too hard just to prove a point? This truck we did under dash LED lights and a remote starter in around 4 months ago. Recently she was waking up to a dead battery, even after driving it and letting it sit for an hour, the battery was dead. The truck was brought to the dealer who immediately blamed the aftermarket parts we installed and required them to be removed. It next went to an independent shop who determined the same thing. Then it came to my shop where I actually fixed it, without disconnecting any of my products.

It came in dead (crazy right), immediately throw it on a charger so a draw test could be done. It came back with a 4 amp persistent draw. The telltale on this truck having a network conflict was the instrument cluster that NEVER turned off. Well after disconnecting the cluster, amp, abs module, pcm, and pulling fuse after fuse. Even disconnecting the alternator to check for a bad diode. The culprit was found, a stuck oem Bluetooth module behind the glove box. As soon as it was disconnected everything on the network starting going to sleep. We now have a .033a resting current draw, well within spec.

I havent had to prove a dealer or independent shop wrong in a while and it feels good.

Summer is fast approaching and we will be doing something different this year. Going forward from now until September 1st we will be open Tuesday - Friday, 9am-5pm. Lets all go out and enjoy that sunshine and heat!

A nice face-lift for this 4th gen 4-runner. New lights, bumper, winch. Had to call help to mount this thing, so heavy.

Unfortunately we will be closing early today and closed tomorrow due to a sewer backup. Summer can't get here soon enough.
