I’m sorry for that post. It’s been a rough couple of years. Everyday is a struggle. We haven’t been able to get parts, sometimes the parts that come in are faulty. For some, no matter what you do for them, it’s never enough. I let this person who towed their truck into my shop, again not running, make me reach a point of total frustration.
So the truck needed more than what they had said it needed. I Found bad wiring, and a bad control module, on top of the fuel pump that I was told to replace. The module needed programming. I wasn’t able to do so for reasons that were out of my control. I spent countless hours-days trying to get it programmed. Once it was programmed her truck started and ran nicely. I drove it with no problems. She picked it up. The next morning I see it in my lot and I see many missed calls from before I even open so I call and she says that her check engine light is on. Okay, let me take a look. I find that the fuel pump that I installed was producing fuel pressure that is .5 to 1 psi more than specs. So it’s turning on the check engine light. So this pump was an after market part, because she said that she didn’t have much money. So I told her that I would eat the difference in price and install a factory GM part. That wasn’t good enough for her. I didn’t have it done first thing this morning.
Apparently I am not perfect. I do the best that I can. Being told by someone who I was going above and beyond to help, that I don’t know what I am doing and that I shouldn’t be in business, well with the last couple of years I’ve been thinking the same. Unfortunately, I can’t close. I Just lost it for a few minutes.
It just felt so good just posting that.
