We would also like to express our gratitude for the professionalism and dedication of the first responders who worked tirelessly at the scene, including the Virginia State Police, VDOT, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Concord Volunteer Fire Department, Campbell County EMS, and all surrounding agencies.

Please keep everyone affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE: FATAL CRASH UNDER INVESTIGATION IN CAMPBELL COUNTY

APPOMATTOX- At 5:34 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to an eight-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on westbound Route 460, approximately four-tenths of a mile west of Cabin Field Road in Campbell County.

The preliminary investigation indicates that two Appomattox County Sheriff’s Deputies traveling home from the Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy stopped to assist at the scene of an initial crash. Their vehicles were positioned in the two left lanes with emergency equipment activated.

A tractor-trailer approaching the crash scene swerved to avoid the vehicles and struck Deputy Burlie W. Duvall III, 33, of Concord. Duvall died at the scene.

Approximately seven people were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging in severity. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

The Virginia State Police extends its deepest condolences to the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Duvall's family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

The crash remains under investigation.

The terrible storms that rolled through this evening made driving conditions treacherous.

Thankfully, we were able to get this one safely back on its wheels, and the driver was uninjured & able to drive the truck away from the scene.

A big thank you to the Virginia State Police, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, and VDOT for their assistance. We appreciate everyone working together to keep the scene safe and get the roadway reopened.

This weekend we honor and remember the man who started it all. ❤️

In 1969, Randy Maddox Sr. built Maddox & Sons Auto with hard work, determination and grit.

Although he’s now longer with us, this Father’s Day, we remember and celebrate our dad and founder. Thank you for the foundation you left for us. We are proud to carry on the business and values you worked so hard to build.

We’d also like to wish all of our customers, friends, and families a very Happy Father’s Day. We hope your day is filled with love, memories, and time with the ones who matter most. 🇺🇸🚗

🚨Another successful recovery 🚨

When gravity has other plans, we’re ready to help. This piece of equipment decided to take a nap on its side, but our crew got it safely recovered and back on its feet.

No matter how big the job, we’ve got the equipment, experience, and teamwork to get it done. 💪🚛
