I am often asked when is the best time of year for selling?
I get the same questions about buying too...
Remember, when it comes to depreciating assets, the Best time to sell is in the past. If getting the most for your RV means something to you, sooner is always better than later. Waiting may help your rig have a shorter market time, but the market is on a steady decline so a slower sale for more VS a faster sale for less can be expected.

Purchases of seasonal items can be cost-effective to buy during the off-season. Factors to determine how beneficial it can be include: your Storage, Savings, Budget, etc. -

The real challenge is knowing just when is the right time to buy. When it Begins to slow down, before the dead of winter is ideal. Dealers start to get nervous regarding their inventory as soon as late July and August. Summer-centric RV choices fall off their peak time about then.

With fewer sales, and lots of inventory to clear, Autumn-time deals are readily available. The factories participate in this savings as well. They pay the Dealers sizable repurchase bonuses tied to acquiring their sitting inventory so this giveaway makes sense.

Those bonuses are always time-sensitive, thus are only available on transactions that take place by a certain date. Between this, and how the Best purchase opportunities are snapped up, the RV winter actually begins in September/October.

What is Hot, What is Not...
I am often asked 'When is the best time to sell?'. Because RV depreciation is so pervasive, I usually answer with sooner is better because the peak selling season for RVs in general is Spring/Summer. RVs market specifically appealing to young families have slowed. Very much so.

Other RVs are doing quite well. fast note to the concept of what is doing well is that people with money still have money so higher-end Class B motorhomes, Class C's, and A's as well as long as they show well.

Big, live-in fifthwheels and live-in-worthy trailers are also selling well. If you are faced with moving on from your RV, I am happy to have my Team serve you. Lets discuss.

Trends...My role is to fully understand the industry trends. I follow the patterns of what is going on (via actual sales). I do this so as to provide timely advice and guidance to help RV sellers (as well as RV buyers) to set accurate expectations VS random assumptions based on what people are 'asking for theirs'...

Currently, Motorhome sales are Up whereas Towable sales are actually Down. Clearly, people with higher financial reserves and stronger incomes associated with higher ticket purchases are less affected by the current higher fuel costs than the more modest budgets of the typical trailer buyer.

That said, the NADA RV Value Guide published for May 2022 is reflecting this trend.

All RVs have also been adversely affected somewhat by the new 2023 RVs arriving. Your RV has not actually aged a year over the last 30 days but the feeling within the marketplace is somewhat showing such. This too is reflected in the current NADA Guide.
