Established in 2011, BTW provides professional instruction to eight southern Indiana counties.

Our program includes BMV-required permit paperwork, a convenient online course, one-on-one driving with State-certified instructors, and the final road test. Since 2011, we have provided professional instruction and on-the-road experience to thousands of students throughout southern Indiana. Our State-certified instructors have the experience and patience to make learning to drive safely fun and effective. Check out our variety of programs and pricing options by visiting www.btwdriving.com; or give us a call at 812-402-7058. Please note that effective April 11, 2025, enrollment is limited to students ages 15-21 only throughout our eight-county service area.

🚗💨 Cruising into the next 15 years of helping another generation learn to drive safely! 🎉(Plus, we just had to show off this adorable addition to the BTW family!) 💚

The BTW office will be closed Monday, September 7 for the Labor Day holiday; weekend drives will continue as scheduled (and remember: if you need to cancel a drive, you must leave a voicemail message at 812-402-7058 at least 24 hours in advance.) Enjoy some rest and relaxation--we'll be back at it again on Tuesday!

🚨 Spam Alert! Several customers have told us during the past few months that our calls to them are showing up as spam and without our business name; apparently some phone carriers are now automatically labeling unfamiliar numbers as spam even when the call is legitimate. All BTW customers, please add 812-402-7058 to your contact list so that you never miss a call from us, thanks! 📲

Now that students are officially back to school, it's time to thank everyone on the BTW team for another amazing summer! Nearly 450 students completed their drives with us in just 10 weeks, thanks to the dedication and determination of our in-car instructors and the awesome scheduling (and frequent rescheduling) ability of our office staff! Congratulations to everyone that is now behind the wheel...and we look forward to working with those just getting started!

📚🍎 Congratulations to everyone that made it back to school this week and good luck to those going next week! As always, be extra cautious in crosswalks, near the buses, and even in the parking lots as new drivers get used to entering and exiting. Stay safe, everyone, and have a great year! 🎉🚘

🚩💻 If you are considering doing a stand-alone online driver education course that is not associated with a full-service driving school, the reality is that these course providers CANNOT give you the paperwork you need to get a permit at age 15, only full-service driving schools can do that. And while these courses may seem cheaper, the reality is that it is often LESS expensive to do both the online course and the drive sessions through the same school (plus, all of your required paperwork is then available in one place.) Before you choose the cheapest coursework option out there, please take a realistic look at what convenience, consistency, and high quality customer service are really worth! ✅🚘

There is still a lot of confusion regarding the new license age eligibility law that went into effect on July 1, 2026. To sum it up: the ONLY regulation that has changed is that you may now get your license at age 16 IF AND ONLY IF you have held your permit for at least 180 days AND you complete a FULL driver education program (online course or classroom and 6 hours of driving.) You must also still turn in the completed 50-hour log to the BMV at license time along with the driving school paperwork. If you choose not to do driver's ed, you are not eligible for a license until age 16 and 270 days (and you still have to hold your permit for 180 days and turn in the 50-hour log.) You can review all Indiana BMV permit and license regulations on www.mybmv.in.gov. Hope this helps!

We are so saddened to share that Mike Guth, our Spencer County driver's ed instructor, passed away yesterday. Mike taught for 31 years at Heritage Hills High School and joined Behind The Wheel in 2020. He was a kind, caring teacher and coach who positively impacted thousands of students, yet always made time to be present for his loved ones. We miss you, Mike...thank you for your service and dedication. You will forever be a member of the BTW family.

All drives will continue as scheduled, but if you need to cancel an upcoming drive, please leave a message at 812-402-7058 (and remember that at least 24 hour cancelation is required to avoid a missed drive fee.) Stay safe and enjoy the long holiday weekend! 🎆
