Drag Week starts today, and once again we’re not there.

The last time we were at Drag Week was 2023 with the Blue car, and we went out on one hell of a high note. We won our class, set records, and had one of the best weeks we’ve ever had racing.

Since then, I made the decision to step away and focus on building the Antidote.

I knew from the beginning this car was going to take time, and I wasn’t willing to cut corners just to make an event. I was really hoping this would be the year we made it back, but it just wasn’t in the cards.

The car is getting close, but this year my family has needed me, the business has needed me, and I made the decision not to rush the final stages of the car just to make a date on the calendar.

I’m not going to lie, watching Drag Week start today without us there sucks.

Especially after the way we finished in 2023 with the Blue car.

But I’ve put way too much time, work, money, and thought into the Antidote to rush it now just to say we made it. When this car finally shows up, I want it tested, sorted, and ready to do what we built it to do.

So for now I’ll keep working on it when I can, keep taking care of my family, keep taking care of Hargett Automotive, and keep moving forward.

We didn’t quit.

We’re just not done yet.

We’ll be back.

And to all of our friends and competitors out there this week — good luck, be safe, and have a great week. We’ll be cheering you on from home.

— Ryan
