After a fantastic 2026 season, Sunday, August 9 marked a special moment as jockey Nakia Lee climbed aboard My Crazy Neighbor ( #4, yellow cap) for the final time at Wyoming Downs.

After years of competing at Wyoming Downs and across the state of Wyoming, Nakia is closing out an incredible chapter of her riding career here in the Cowboy State. She has piloted legendary Wyoming runners across both breeds, such as Sunrise Mischief, Dance the Dust Off, and Kona Skye, just to name a few. From the start to finish, she has been a familiar and respected face in Wyoming racing, leaving her mark on not just the equine athletes, but every person involved as well.

We’re proud to have been part of her journey and grateful for all the memories, competition and passion she has brought to Wyoming Downs. 🏇💨

In the Vee & Supersonic Blue were victorious in Saturday’s quarter horse and thoroughbred features! 🐴🥇

Eddie Jensen’s In the Vee was a convincing winner of the $109,200 Wyoming Downs Derby for trainer Jess Matt with regular rider aboard. Saturday’s Derby win marked number 9 out of 14 starts to push In the Vee’s overall earnings to $228,893.

Arapahoe Park Racetrack shipper Supersonic Blue took the $25,750 Parker Speed Handicap field gate to wire with Luis Valenzuela in the irons. O.A. Martinez Jr. trained this 4 yo c**t to his first career dirt win for owner Mary B. Simpson.🏇🏆
