Heyyyyy Umatilla!!!! The Umatilla High Army JROTC is raffling off their very first memory quilt. Both of my 2 boys Cadet Donnie Moon and Cadet Jesse Moon are selling raffle ticket if interested please come see me at Moon Auto Works and Towing to get your ticket come on guys it’s for a good cause and help out these wonderful kids these boys and girls have earned it and are the future. Plus you get a chance to get a beautiful handmade quilt.
This quilt has been made in memory of Joseph A. King. He was in the US Army and served in Vietnam. He signed on for a second tour to keep his younger brother stateside. During that tour he was exposed to Agent Orange. He passed away in 1998 from small cell lung cancer due to this exposure. He was 50 years old. He lost his only son as an infant from the effects of agent Orange as well. He left behind his wife of 25 years and his 2 daughters. He has 5 grandchildren he never got to meet. He is the grandfather of Cadet First Sergeant Connor Strew.
Connor’s grandmother handmade this quilt and has pledged to do a memory quilt every year for as long as she can. She only asks that it be dedicated to someone special to one of the cadets that has served in the United States Military. All money raised will go directly to the JROTC program.
Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
