We would like you to meet our newest Deputy Marshal, Eddie Thibodeaux. Eddie will be working part time doing trainings for our office and other local departments. His duties will also involve visiting schools, interacting with kids, our community projects and services, and working with civilians teaching self-defense and gun safety. He is currently our fi****ms instructor and will be assisting in updating the city-owned gun range used by the City Marshal’s office, Eunice Police Department, and other local agencies. Eddie brings 38 years of law enforcement experience along with many certifications and knowledge. He will be a great asset to our office and community.

Hey, everyone! We know what you’re thinking: “What’s the status of the Liberty Theater?” Well, we have some great news to share!

While we don’t have an official reopening date set in stone just yet, the Liberty Theater Board has been hard at work bringing the Liberty back to life while preserving the historic look and feel that has made it special since 1924.

So far, we’ve installed a new roof, restored exterior brickwork, replaced the fire suppression system, and begun creating a more functional green room for our musicians. Plans also include an updated sound system, lighting, and other modern improvements.

Our vision is for the Liberty to celebrate Louisiana’s rich cultural heritage through new programming, talented artists and musicians, the return of the beloved Rendezvous des Cajuns, and even more live music and entertainment.

We’ll continue sharing updates as progress continues, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back! Spread the word with your friends and family!
