Window stuck, slow, or not going up at all? That’s a window actuator, and here’s it getting swapped on a BMW 430i G23 at our shop πŸ”§

The G23 is a convertible, so a window that won’t seal properly is something that can get in the way. It affects the roof seal, wind noise, and water getting in. We handle the repair in-house with a full-service report, so you know exactly what we found and what we’re quoting.

BMW owners in Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake and across the Mid-Cities, we’re a short drive away.

So BMW just rolled the next M-Lite 3 Series out in public for the first time, which we got to react to without seeing the leaked press shots β€” red paint, 20-inch black wheels, no surprises, no cover-up. It's crazy that it got revealed a full month before the thing even starts production. That's a flex in itself but the new design is something we might have to come to terms with.

This is the M350 xDrive, and it's getting a 50 instead of 40 β€” wild how times are changing. Launch day only brings four versions: Europe gets the 318 and 320, we get the 330i here in the States, and then the M350 sits above all of them as the quickest option you can actually order.

A few things worth knowing if you're a 3 series fan. A plug-in hybrid is coming in 2027. The real M3 follows a year after that. And here's the one that caught people off guard β€” the diesel's gone. Not delayed, not downsized, just gone. That means no more M340d going forward, which feels like the end of an era for anyone who loved that engine or diesel in general.

They're also throwing in a Drift Mode for 2027, which is BMW's way of giving an all-wheel-drive car a rear-wheel-drive personality whenever you want it. So no, there's still no true RWD 3 Series coming, but this is BMW's workaround.

Here's the part that's a bigger deal than it sounds: production is leaving Munich. For as long as anyone can remember, the 3 Series has been built in Munich and driven right next door to BMW Welt. Now it's moving to Dingolfing (a smaller town in Germany), about 62 miles away, which makes this show car basically a prototype wearing the dress shoes. Munich isn't losing the 3 Series story completely though β€” it's going full EV, building the i3, with an i3 Touring and the upcoming electric M3 next.

So β€” team gas-powered M350 holding the line, or are you more hyped for the electric M3 waiting in the wings?

There's a moment in BMW's history where the M3 stopped being six-cylinder and became something else entirely. That moment is the E93, and this 2008 BMW M3 Convertible is proof.

For one generation, and one generation only, BMW built the M3 around a V8. The S65 β€” a 4.0-liter, naturally aspirated masterpiece descended from the S85 V10 that powered the M5 and M6 β€” which makes more than horsepower, it makes an argument. Eight individual throttle bodies, one per cylinder, means the throttle response is immediate and uncut by turbo lag. The redline climbs to 8,400 RPM, a number that still sounds impossible for cars coming out in 2026. 414 horsepower, delivered the way it should be: with displacement, revs, and some German engineering sauce. BMW hasn't built another M3 like it. They can't β€” emissions regulations closed the door on naturally aspirated V8s for good, and every M3 since has run forced induction paired with a turbo or two.

This one pairs that engine with RWD, an automatic transmission, and BMW's power retractable hardtop β€” a convertible that becomes a coupe at the push of a button, with none of the usual soft-top compromises and all of the necessary accessories for the best drive.

Inside: Navigation, Xenon headlamps, heated leather seats with dual power adjustment, BMW Assist, Bluetooth, keyless entry and start, and the dynamic and traction control systems that make an 8,400-RPM V8 ready for Texas asphalt and a first-class ticket to your next destination.

The BMW X7 is BMW's largest SUV and the flagship of the entire X lineup, built on the same platform as the 7 Series and sharing its design language. Internally coded G07, the X7 entered production in December 2018 and has been sold continuously since the 2019 model year, making it BMW's answer to the three-row luxury SUV segment. Every X7 built for the U.S. market comes out of BMW's manufacturing plant in Greer, South Carolina. BMW gave the X7 its first major update for the 2023 model year, refreshing the exterior and cabin technology roughly four years into the model's run.

Under the hood, the X7 has spanned a wide range of powertrains over its lifetime. Engine output across the model's history has ranged from roughly 261 horsepower on the entry diesel variant up to 523 horsepower on the top-performance trims, which include the M60i and the Alpina XB7. Before the X7 arrived, that flagship role belonged to the X6, which had been in production since December 2007 β€” the X7 essentially took over as BMW's biggest, most prestige-focused SUV.

Inside is where the X7 really sets itself apart. It offers more front-seat headroom than the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Lexus LX, more second-row headroom than the Infiniti QX80 or Lincoln Navigator, and more third-row headroom than a Cadillac Escalade, and at 48.6 cubic feet, it holds more cargo behind the rear seats than the Range Rover, Lexus LX, or GLS. Buyers can configure it as a true seven-seater with a second-row bench, or as a six-seat layout with captain's chairs for a more first-class feel in row two. BMW also engineered the cabin heavily around noise isolation, using acoustic glass and sound-deadening materials to keep the ride quiet even at highway speeds.

What the X7 is really known for is smoothing out the tension between "big family SUV" and "genuine luxury flagship"

BMW F30 battery replacement isn't a plug-and-play job β€” here's why.

Our tech Isaiah walks through it: on newer BMWs, the battery talks to the car's electronics through the DME. Swap the battery without registering it, and the car keeps thinking it's running the old, worn-out battery. That means the charging system undercharges or overcharges, your alternator works harder than it should, and battery life on the new battery gets cut short before you ever notice a problem.

The fix is coding the new battery through the OBD port, so the car recognizes it from day one. Isaiah covers what that process actually involves and why skipping it is the #1 reason people can go through batteries every couple of years instead of every four or five.

If your F30 doesn't start or is due for a battery, don't let anyone hand you one without registering it.
