Mock meet fun! June 25th at 11 am start time. Mock meets have always held joy for me, we are still lifting with drive and heart, but there’s a lighter spirit in the air. Matthias Steiner to win the 2008 Olympics. This was one of the most spectacular moments in lifting to me personally. Yes this lift was SO GOOD, but even more incredible when you remember he was in 4th after the sn**ches, he then missed his opening CJ, and barely made his second. Then he had to take a 10kilo jump to win! It was so unlikely, the Russians were already celebrating their win. But Matthias brought all the determination, will and total surrender for a truly heroic moment. 📷
