Roger Francis Rosebush

Roger passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 12, 2024 at Brian’s House in Essexville at the age of 73. He was born to the late Francis and Olive (Trudeau) Rosebush on July 20, 1951 in Bay City, Michigan.

Roger was very proud of the many accomplishments he achieved over time and loved having his family by his side throughout those accomplishments.

Roger is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra (White) Rosebush; he and Debra were secondary parents to, Jerica and Chad Nelsen and grandparents to, Cora Nelsen and Maverick Nelsen; his siblings, Linda (Anthony) Toporski, Karen (Victor) Sharon, Susan (Darrell) Koby, Mary Jo (Keith) Underwood, Terance (Jeana) Rosebush and Mark (Theresa) Rosebush; honorary sister-in-law, Anne Leeson; sister-in-law, Brenda (Scott) Carruthers; brother-in-law, Nathaniel (Eleanor) White and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Roger Rosebush; twin brother, Richard Rosebush; father and mother-in-law, Nathaniel and Phyllis White and sister-in-law, Cynthia (White) and Thomas Leivo.

Funeral Mass for Roger will be taking place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish with a private inurnment being held at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

The family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Roger’s name to Brian’s House.

This is the week for the Ames Performance Tri Power Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio (www.pontiacnationals.com, ).

Roger had planned on being there this weekend with various Pontiac parts, but other priorities have come up and he is unable to make it.

BUT, his brother Terry is going to be bringing some of Roger’s Pontiac parts and will have them in the Terry Rosebush Motorsports (www.terryrosebush.com) booths ( #245 & #246 in the Swap Meet area). He will be there Thursday afternoon until Saturday. He’ll be the one with the red late-model Chevy van.

So if you are looking for some great parts, look Terry up.

The entire Rosebush Racing family was deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of long-time friend and colleague, Lorne Drouillard.

Lorne (aka Top Gun) has always been a car guy. He first met Roger as a 10-year old in the first Rosebush Racing garage. It was this love of cars that brought them together over and over again throughout those first years and they quickly became fast friends.

Then in the 90s Roger had purchased a 1969 Camaro Z/28. The car needed some work to freshen it up so Roger contacted Lorne. This Camaro project was in need of a new radiator and it is what caused Roger to found Be Cool, Inc. with Lorne by his side.

Lorne was a great people person, which made him perfect to take care of technical service for Roger’s newly formed company, Be Cool, where he excelled in all that he did. The customers always came first for Lorne. When asked about it, he had once said “I’m here to serve our customers and I’m not happy until they are.” That is the way he treated everyone in his life.

During his time at Be Cool, Lorne brought in his younger car-loving brother, Mitch, to work as a Sales Representative. Another long-lasting friendship was formed between Mitch, Roger and family.

In the early 2000s, Lorne was instrumental, along with Al Wisniewski in helping Roger to totally rebuild his 1965 Chevelle, which he had just earlier retrieved after being sold a couple of times. After more than a year, the car was tested on the track at Pennsylvania’s Maple Grove Raceway where it was, at the time, the quickest and fastest ever recorded by a 283 CID Chevelle in legal NHRA Super/Stock trim. Coming back home to Michigan it ran even faster. Such a testament to the superior care given to the car by Lorne and the others on the team. This was just one of the many cars that Lorne enjoyed painting and working on.

Roger and Lorne have remained close friends to this day.

The entire Rosebush Racing family sends its heartfelt sympathies to the friends and family of Lorne Drouillard.
